Well, between the purply-red hair and the lip piercing, I've been told to "Keep a low profile" at work, in other words, don't leave the basp00get

That sucks.. When are people gonna realize, appearance has nothing to do with how well an individual can contribute to the company. But hey, look on the bright side.. the basp00get can be fun times.

Apparently it's the piercing, not the hair that's the issue... they can deal a bit. I have a clear plastic hoop and retainer I can put in, but until it's totally healed, I refuse to put plastic in.

The thing that really gets me is they didn't have the balls to tell me to my face, they complained to my boss. Whatever though, they need to grow up. They can't say I don't get my work done... I worked 74 hours of overtime last month to try to get my huge project done in time and basically, I did...

I had to convert our old 2.66 gb 26,711 file site to a new design. Basically done and down to 115 mb and 1,065 files. It'll go up when we add in more graphics, but I think there's a bit of a difference there

Well thats typical of conservative buttheads. I agree, its the work you can do, not what you look like. I assume you are not in a "high-visability" position. If I was you, I may see the company attorney, or get your own. Its discrimination, without a legal pot to piss in.

But then again, if your job description hasnt changed, or task assignment preferences are the same, then maybe the basp00get can be fun...maybe even a little bit of peace and quiet?

Well, I've been in the basp00get the whole year I've been here, that's where they keep us computer people (cuz we're creepy or something).

If I was around people all the time, the chances I'd have gone back to this would have been less. I rarely meet with people being the web person, they just send e-mails, I fix things and usually they're happy.

What's the worst they can do, fire me? Let em do it, then I will go after them. I mean, I did put the dress code policy on the site and it says nothing about piercings. I'll also add that there are other staff members with eyebrow and tounge pircings, so yeah, it's all or nothing guys

Our job posting even say this at the bottom:

Yeah I don't get it. If you are not in a position where you represent the company to its clients then why does it matter if you have a piercing or what color your hair is? They just don't like looking at it, so they send you downstairs? Doesn't make sense.

well me and my fiancee have a saying you don't like the way i look then don't look at all. i do have visibul tattoos and percings in my ears and no one has givin me hell for it at all. but i also work out in an automotive repair shop.

Its probably not any of that, pretty girl like you probably drives the men wild and they had to get you out of site so they can get some work done!
