What a great day! NOT!

So today I worked on the sport a little, cleaned up the interior and carpet, changed the oil, just little stuff like that. I decided to park the mustang and drive over to my dads house to see if he could recharge the a/c on the bird. All went well, kinda, the a/c took a charge but had a leak so after about an hour of running around town paying bills it died on me again so I just rolled the windows down and kept rolling. Well on the way home I turn on my road and there is not one single car on the road so Im just cruising and out of no where a Maroon color dodge truck comes flying up behind me and starts riding my ass so after 2 miles or so I pulled to the side to let him go thinking obviously he is late for something! lol Then as he goes by me he gets about 30-40 yards ahead of me and pulls his truck across both lanes gets out cursing and taking his shirt off, wasnt much bigger than a piss ant! lol Im 6'4'' 225lbs and bench press 250lbs so I could have easily hurt this guy but I didnt want any trouble and I just recently had back surgery so I took the ditch and drove around him but as I was going around he decided that he was going to kick the side of the thunderbird. That blew it for me, I could see my house from where we were so I pulled into my driveway, called the police and told them the issue and they said they were sending an officer, then what do you know he pulled in right behind me so I met him in the driveway as he was still cursing, by then I figured he was drunk so I told him I didnt want any trouble but the police would be here shortly to assist him. He says " F**k the police!" I'll kick his a$$ too!" I told him to calm down and we would talk it over when they arrived, well then he started back to his truck and reached for a 2x4 he had on the back and before this got out of hand I decided he wasnt going to hit me with that so I pinned him to the side of his truck with my elbow to the back of his head, he fought for a few mins then we went to the ground, he got one swing in on me that caught me on the ear then I was really pissed so I clocked him once or twice and then pretty much sat on him til the police arrived.

As I figured, he was drunk and they carted him off in the back of the police car and the officer told me they would be sending a tow truck to pick up his truck and that he would probably be spending a few days in jail. Luckily my neighbor saw the whole thing and came outside to give a statment to the police. So long story short, my back hurts like hell, and I got a dent in the side of my car.

Just another reason drinking and driving dont mix well!
If he would have been sober the outcome could have been alot worse for me! lol

So there is my little rant for the day....

Well I am glad he didn't get a chance to hurt your car severely. I am a tall fella (6'5") myself and short guys always seem to think I am a pushover too.

Hmmm, does anyone else think dry ice might straighten that out? I think they'd tell you to take a walk but idk, maybe its worth a try.

How would I use dry ice? Never heard of that before but if anyone thinks it will work I'll give it a shot! Yeah I think I wont even bother my insurance agent with this. I'll try and get it out somehow. Could I pull the interior quarter plastic and get to it from there and try and push it out?

I can't see the pictures (firewall block) but I'd try the push from behind first, sometimes they'll pop right back out. The dry ice thing works too, nice hot day (or much care with a heat gun) and then put the dry ice wrapped in a towel on it. The rapid contraction from the cold 'shrinks' the metal and it pulls the dent out. There's danger to your paint... or you could try the guy that pretties up all the cars for the used car dealers, they're pretty good at removing dents w/o needing to repaint anything.

Oh, and that Jack Daniel's fella? He wasn't afraid of anyone, no matter the size, when we used to hang out together in my stupider days. ;)

Maybe I could try the dry ice thing on my passenger side fender too. it has a small dent in it. Other than one little ding on the roof that is the only body damage to my car.

I guess dry ice will contract the metal and pull out small dents in some cases. Its worth a try man. Make sure you don't freeze your hands ;)

Y'know, since your car was not damaged by another car, but by a person, it should be covered under your vandalism coverage (if you've got it) instead of collision. That would not result in an increase in premiums. And since the culprit is known, your insurance company would probably sue him to recover anything they paid you. They'd probably also insist the police charge the douche with property damage. Just a suggestion, as it'd be a way to make the drunk's life even more miserable...
