Saturday Yard Sale Find

While some of you were out having fun at Carlisle or wherever, I was rootin' around at a couple local Yard Sales and found this for $40...

No it ain't anything you gamers would even give a second glance, but it's perfect for a garage computer... Has 3.56 Celeron processor, 120Gb SATA HD & a DVD burner... Has the dreaded(so I hear) Windows Vista but for my use, I'm happier than a hog in slop...

"dxdiag"
All your machines specs will pop up.

I feel like im in the stone ages :rollin:
800MHZ celeron processor
250mg Ram with 198MG available
18gig HD with 1/3'rd free
Bios version 2.06

This machine has seen windows 3.1 !!! and the day when we were happy to get 95 on!  We are now running XP on it and people cant understand how its doing it.

All this cramed into a small HP case has been running just fine since about 2000.

My boys have all that fancy stuff they earned with good grade money so thier machines can game.

umm,,,yep thats it

So we are thinking of an upgrade cause mason has an ATX mini with a 1.3ghz processor, 8gig ram and two HD 150gig and 500gig.

Im trying to figure out a way to integrate the mother board so i dont have to reload windows.  Im stumped right now until i figure out a way.

Wow man, Great job on keeping that running.
That was my first "real working internet" computer.
Came with 500mhz celeron, 64mb ram, 10gb HD, 56K.

If you get a Dell motherboard i can hook you up with a win2000pro OS install disc, Embedded/Universal Serial (Also have win98 and ME).

Wont the HP drive boot on another board? I dont recall if its propietary. I could check mine out later for you.

Here's my work in progress:

Low End Gaming/Media.
Already pretty dated, But working with what i have or can get cheap.

Another pile of computers LOL... I have something like 15 out in the garage(maybe 4-5 are bootable), problem is the fastest is a AMD 500... I'd been running a HP 450Mhz to mostly play Mp3s, but it running Win ME & didn't have a DVD reader... Might say I went from the outhouse to the penthouse... :hick:

Scott that unit on top is a external USB HD case(uses a external P/S as well)... Can install a drive in it from another computer and read files on the new(er) one... I was adding some songs I got a few years back...

Wow, I thought I was some sort of badass running windows 95 on a 386 SX, or maybe DX, which ever one couldn't use a cd-rom because it didn't have a math co processor.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
