the module behind back seat left side what do it control i was hooking up speakers it started to smoke

Are you working on your TC or your standard Tbird?  The TC has an amp and possibly a keyless remote entry module, if your TC came so equipped  Not sure on the wiring.  I think someone has the schematics.  Possibly need to pick up a EVTM for your car.
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

Since it started to smoke when you were working on the stereo I'd guess it's the premium sound amplifier. If you installed an aftermarket deck and want to use the stock speaker wiring you must unplug all connections from the premium sound amp.
