I just have a headache left. Thanks for the thoughts, I think it's a pesky virus. We all went to the Cleveland Natural History Museum yesterday to see a mammal exhibit and see the planetarium show. ( We have really nice museums in this town.) I felt like the whole time, and got little done when I got back.I did manage to get the trans cooler wiring done and the passenger side hot stuff is all bolted down, and the IC bolted in with the connections done. Working on the driver's side now. Those Percy's header bolts are pretty cool! Quote Selected

Went to install my new serpentine belt, and found it was too short. I had saved the old one, and it fit perfectly, so Rockauto evidently sent the wrong one.The good news is that everything looks pretty good at this point. I am happy with clearances and fit. All I need is some time to get it done.1. mount trans cooler DONE and PS cooler2. bend and install trans lines DONE3. install radiator hoses and IC hoses4. mount Baumann CPU5. attach trans harness and shift cable at trans6. blow out/clean fuel lines, install tank7. put new yoke on driveshaft, check u-joints and install8. install heater and dash9. finish up last of the engine compartment wiring DONE10. finish up battery cabling11. grind turbo housing to clock it properly DONE12. install turbo oil lines DONE13. bolt on alternator and put on fan belt DONE14. blow out brake lines, install master cylinder and fresh fluid15. Bolt on exhaust (minus catalytic converter)At that point I should be about ready to load software, fill trans and engine with fluids, hook up the battery, and try to start it for the first time. Once I have a runner I can get on to stage 2.1. re-wire headlight circuit with relays under dash2. install remote door lock electronics3. mount GPS antenna4. install carpc hardware and DC power regulators5. install speakers and amp6. install HD AM/FM radio Quote Selected

All I can say is wow, I'm glad I'm taking the easy way out. Luckily I have a very loose definition of street car. Looks good. Thanks. It's coming along. I wish I'd gotten more done up to now, since the schedule is nuts right now. I'm in the garage today and can make some more progress. I was in Orange County all last week. Like you said, I haven't done too much the easy way. LOL In a lot of ways it's more time consuming to make a true street car. I can't wait to get to installing all the carpc stuff. Quote Selected

1988 TC single Holset turbo 5.0/ 4R70W Reply #298 – March 26, 2011, 11:51:48 PM My son is going to help install the dash tomorrow. I'm getting the feeling that nothing can stop me now.The plug wires are a mish-mash of stuff I had here. One day I'll order a set of Magnecore wires, but that day isn't today. I may need to alter the PS cooler if I get interference with the nose, but it looked to be OK. I wasted a bunch of time looking for the poly O-rings for the PS pump side line connection. Can't locate them. I'll have to get them before I can fill the system. I expect the seals on the lines at the rack to leak, and if they do I'll be changing them out and replacing the rack. I just want to hear some noise and see what else is wrong first. Quote Selected
1988 TC single Holset turbo 5.0/ 4R70W Reply #299 – March 28, 2011, 09:26:01 AM Well, I tracked down some O-rings at Advance for 3.00. Now I'll probably find the first set. Anyway, all the hoses are on and tight except the heater core ones.I found universal (ugly) hoses that fit for now at Autozone. I expect I'll need stainless steel hoses at least on the bottom for heat. These will get it running and were affordable enough.Once I fit the nose I hated the version 1 PS cooler. I wasn't going to get to the bolts on the marker lights and it just didn't fit like I wanted. Soooo, I broke out the Derale tranny cooler I was originally going to use for the transmission and mounted it. I like it MUCH better, and it will be more effective to boot. After I take my son out to practice for his driving test we're going to work on the dash. Quote Selected
