I'd like to think I live in the north for the seasons. Other than that I'm sick of the cold. My Mom has a house in Charlotte and a local contractor told me that a Yankee like me would not fair to well trying to get work in my trade if I did it would be no where the pay I'm used to

Yeah, I suppose bitching about Winter is just what we do up here. I do enjoy the other 3 seasons a lot. I hate the sticky heat that comes with southern climates, so Summer wouldn't be as enjoyable for me down South.

I fabbed the cooler brackets twice yesterday before I got what I wanted. I'll be pulling it back off to paint it this morning, and getting the sheet metal cut back for the filter that arrived from Summit yesterday. I ought to get the tranny lines bent and installed this weekend. I'm just about ready to start bolting it all together for the start.

Well, I had a lot of things get in my way this weekend, but got a few things knocked out.

Biggest to me was getting the sheet metal trimmed out for the filter. It actually fits pretty well, I just lost the brace behind the headlight on that side. 

I have all the fittings here now for the coolers, got them when I exchanged the -10 drain line Summit sent for the correct one. The first one didn't have the steel braid on it. Installed the turbo after grinding it down so it would clock to have the drain perpendicular to the ground.

The clearancing I did on the frame worked out, too.

Just maybe I'll be starting it next week.XXX

I cut out the bumper cover to let air through the holes already in the upper nose brace. They are rough yet, I'll smooth it out before it goes on for good.XXX

Alright!  Some progress is good.  The filter on the turbo looks good.  I guess you could have run a flat filter on the turbo inlet, but the K&N you have is probably better and will protect that turbo.

Can't wait to hear it run.

All I could find were screens or foam filters, either of which I wouldn't use on a street car. The 4" turbo inlet was a bit of a challenge. 

I'm getting antsy now. I can see things getting close.

Our Whirlpool washing machine is acting up (again). Looks like I'll be working on it one day this week. Nothing ticks a woman off like not being able to use the washer!

Made up the turbo drain line. What a pain. The angle was JUST a bit off at the pan and it hit the header. Had to find a way to bend the pan fitting a bit to get it to work. Looks good now, though. I had to assemble the line 3 times to get the length just right, and the turbo and header had to come off each time.

The Earl's line is way better quality than Summit brand. I'll be using it from now on.

Fabbed up a new brace for the turbo. The old one attached to a header stud, and the ARP fasteners don't have enough thread to do it that way. I like the new one better anyway.

Put a piece of 1,000 degree heatshield on the firewall near the downpipe turn. Insurance against a melted firewall soundproof mat. Relocated the wideband wires away from hot stuff.

Battery cables and transmission/ PS lines on Thursday.

Yeah, they are kinda purty. They fit up well, too. If they seal as good as they look, I'll be a BBK header fan for life.

Well, payday came and I ordered some parts. I got a new set of headlamps coming from Bowen-Scarff dealership in WA. I also got a set of Ebay torque box reinforcement plates on the way. $65.00 shipped for top and bottom seemed pretty good on those.

The headlight availability is starting to concern me, so I just bit the bullet on them. I still need to get front rotors and wheel bearings, and last tires, AC stuff, and paint.

Hopefully I'll have enough cash left for the paint this month. I'd like to get the front bumper and fender cut in so I can mount them permanently.

I'm running the 351w swap BBK header and they seal nice I had a problem with  header bolts backing out and with 3 loose they didn't leak till I had 4 loose. I got the passenger side out and will be using a remflex gasket with split locking bolts like the ones you've gone with. The drivers side I think I'll just replace the bolts. The line lock and brake lines are really tight. Wish I knew about locking header bolts last year

Being the paranoid type that I am, I have a set of copper gaskets to try out on the headers when I'm bolting them on for good.

Got my tranny hard lines all done. All that's left is to attach the rubber lines and wire the cooler fan.

Working on the battery cables now.

My upper and lower torque box re-inforcements showed up this afternoon. I'm thinking I may wait until after the start up to do those.
