This is what I had to deal with all day on tuesday. Not a pleasent site to see. Had the boat in the water since thursday and on monday it sank at the dock. First time in the water since I got it. After getting back on land I found a nice size hole in the rubber bellows in the outdrive.

Turns out there was a leak.

Its on the trailer in the yard now. I need to get all the water out of the engine and replace the oil and see if it will start. After that replace the bellows in the sterndrive that was leaking.

Thats no good! I hope that it all works out for you! If the seats/carpet got ruined let me know if you aren't too far from me, my mother in law redoes boat interiors professionally and does a beautiful job.

Yeah luckily it was at the dock or it may have gone completely under. Good luck! Looks like a pretty nice boat! Hope you get it going again.

The good thing about the interior is that I was going to replace it anyways and I already had the carpet out. Im going to take the spark plugs out today and change the oil and pump the water out of the cylinders and then change the oil agian then see if it will start.

Like a lot of others said, it's very lucky you weren't 'out to sea' when that happened... of course you probably could've run it wide open to get back to s before it took on too much water.

oh man that hits me in my heart. my family lives on west point lake. if you check it out on google earth its in west ga between the border of alabama and georgia. just search lagrange ga and you can find it easy.

the family has built a flock. my uncle has one of those yamaha wave runner badass models, 750cc with shiznit loads of torque. it lopes like a rally car in the water. it was the fastest one he could get, tops out at about 75mph. my cousin brandon has a full on race 250cc waverunner that tops at 65mph. everyone has had the chance to lose their balance and capsize it at the dock. its finiky, its basically a race bike lol. my cousin lisa has a really subdued older wave runner that tops at 40mph. its a cruiser.

my grandparents has a "party boat" pontoon. with maybe a 30hp engine. not sure. it gets the job done.

but the creme of the crop is my uncles boat that looks a lot like your's from what i can see. its got a high hp rated 350. i cant remember what the rating is. its on the engine though. he's got some plumming in it so he can hook up water from the water hose so he can run the engine in the garage and tune it. it hauls and best of all it carves. its a flat bottom so it might be alot different after all. flat bottom with fins. oh also its a jet prop boat so it instantly hooks up. you cant pull skiers up much b/c the boat gets up to speed so fast it just yanks the rope from your hands. not that it cant be done though. i keep hounding him on gettin hot feet for it but he likes the reg throttle better.

hope that thing fires up for ya. whats the specs on it?

The engine was nothing special, just a 260 horse 350 small block chevy engine. The only chevy I have.
