Pulling Pulley Problems May 16, 2009, 03:51:20 PM I'm a tad embarrased to admit this, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to use this tool. All I want to do is remove the pulley for the power steering pump. My spacial sense and geometry was always a weekness. Can anybody give me some instructions? Lol, there were no instructions that came with the kit. Quote Selected

Pulling Pulley Problems Reply #2 – May 16, 2009, 06:30:57 PM Hmm. I am not sure that is the right tool. The tool I always use looks like the one below. You clasp the shell around the nub on the PS with the nut in the middle. Put the sleeve around the two pieces with the nut and crank away. This is the tool Autozone stocks for loaner tool. I would recommend you return your widget kit and get the one below instead. Quote Selected
Pulling Pulley Problems Reply #3 – May 16, 2009, 06:33:27 PM Looks a little different but it will work. First find witch one of those long rods fit down the center hole in the PS shaft. Then That same rod should slide inside of the Biggest Bolt looking thing. Then thread that BIG bolt through the hole in one of those black metal pieces that have that C shaped notch in it. The lip on the C shaped part grabs the lip in the center of the PS pulley. That long rod goes down the center of the PS shaft and then you start turning the big bolt part. That should make that C shaped piece start pulling the pulley off. The other parts are for installing the pulley back on the pump. Then it also has the the stuff to do them all, FORD,GM. DODGE. and most imports too. If this don't help go look at the KD tools on online and find the directions to it . Basicly the same just a little different but you should be able to get it done.
