It was free! Why not?

A family friend gave me their 64 Fairlane 500 that was first owned by her grandmother. No that is not rust on the hood roof or trunk, it's just really dirty. It actually has less body rust than the cougar :giggle: I just brought it home today and will start the cleaning process tomorrow.
It's a 260 V-8 auto with 114,000 miles.
Even though it's a four door, I just couldn't resist.

4-door or not...that looks like a very solid base for a restoration project.

I'd have taken it in half a heartbeat and not even bothered to say "Why not?". Both '64 Galaxies and Fairlanes are a weakness I'll have to deal with someday. :D Wouldn't even care if one of 'em was a 4-door.

Not For Sale!!!!  She's all mine! :grinno:  I don't know about WWW's. I'm not too thrilled about the factory style hub caps so I think a nice new set of aftermarket chrome wheels with some wider low profile tires will be in order. Not sure what road I'll take in that department but I have lots of time to figure all that out.
Thanks everyone for the positive comments!

NICE!  If you were to paint it I would suggest keeping the base color and turn everything that is white into a nice silver.  Just my opinion.  So what did YOU give in return? :giggle:
