Painting Rims ??? April 02, 2005, 09:13:05 PM Well, every year i think in a way to change the look of my car. Yeah, there was in my car "2001" (too bad...), "2002" (very good),"2003" (too good) versions, etc....This year i wanted to paint the grille black and the rims. But i dont have any experience painting rims. Any paint or procedure recommended ? any color ? if you did not see my rims before, here is the pic.... Quote Selected

Re: Painting Rims ??? Reply #2 – April 03, 2005, 12:30:14 AM As for rims, You can sand em down and apply 2 coats of paint and clear. But they will chip over time.Or you can powder coat them, It's abit more expensive, but is alot more durable. Quote Selected

Re: Painting Rims ??? Reply #4 – April 03, 2005, 06:39:40 AM I can't recall who makes it,but there is paint in a can specifically for wheels.Made to withstand road wear and break dust.I would suggest powdercoating.Do it right the first time. Quote Selected

Re: Painting Rims ??? Reply #6 – April 03, 2005, 11:17:04 AM I got my wheels painted just after the car was to match. They were sandblasted first, then painted and cleared (regular old car paint). It's been 2 years and they still look good, I just wax em whenever I wax the car. Before: After: Quote Selected
