FINALLY Salt Pix!!

It was sarcasm. It was intentionally done, all right, but it wasn't part of any package. Fords just always seem to sit high, right up to and including the new Mustangs. What it really is, is that Salt probably doesn't have broken front coil springs, a rarity among Fox cars, and probably also has "sag butt", all too common among these things.

Okay.

Two, potentially dumb, questions.  What is a "sag butt" and are you suggesting that the highness of the front may have saved the coil springs on the front?  Because the coil springs are, in fact, in good shape.

Sag Butt is the gradual sagging of the rear springs. These cars are arse-heavy and the springs give up over time.

The highness of the front didn't save the springs, it's because of them. These cars all sat that high in front when new (that's the 4X4 appearance package people were joking about), but over the years most of them have settled down with sag butt and broken front springs.

Also remember that the wheel openings were made for tires ranging from 205/70R14 to 225/60R16. The 16" wheels will fill the openings better, and the 14" ones will make them look more "empty", resulting in a 4X4 look...
