Pics of my 88 t coupe.... April 21, 2009, 03:14:05 PM So here are a few pics of my 88 turbo coupe.... Started some body work recently. Not close to done yet but you kinda get the idea... Lots of body kit work and shaved the birds of the sides and the "thunderbird" emblem on the trunk... Sprayed a little primer on bare metal to keep it from rusting since it's my daily driver and probably won't have much time to finish it in the next couple months, hope to get it primered soon at least :) Quote Selected

Ever thought about cutting the groove were the license plate usually goes out? That's my plan :) But I'll be waiting to finish it up, going to be very busy the next couple months.... and there's not much rust at all, couple spots there was a little surface rust but not bad at all. Car was in a barn for 8 years until I got it, and before that I was told it was a west coast car. I've got to find time to finish up the body kit and get the spoiler touched up and mounted :) Quote Selected

Pics of my 88 t coupe.... Reply #10 – April 21, 2009, 10:44:43 PM That front really looks cool!! The only thing is I am trying to decide if there should be two big bird emblems on the front. Do you think that will be a little much? I don't know. I am looking forward to seeing it with the plate in the center and both birds installed. So far though, great job!! Quote Selected

Pics of my 88 t coupe.... Reply #12 – April 22, 2009, 10:22:21 AM The air comes up from the bottom grooves, I installed a plastic "shield" on the bottom inside of the front air dam that goes up and mounted it to the bottom of the original bumper cover, so the air flows up through the grooves and into the engine compartment, I'm going to work on a little different design as the car runs on the higher 2/3 of the temp guage. I'm also going to cut out the center for the license plate and maybe I can get some air in that way as well. If anyone has ideas let me know :)I was thinking the same thing about putting another chrome bird down there, I wonder how that would look... I leaning towards a 2 tone, metallic black and metallic silver paint scheme, with the black on the bottom. I was going to make some re-pops but after all the research i did, the price would have been pretty high just from the materials and i took a new job so i will not have much free time this summer... hope i will get a chance to work on the car once in a while.
