lookin to replace my 87 xr7

Ive decided that my car will cost too much to fix and paint so Im looking for a near mint condition '87 cougar XR7 to swap all my parts into. It has to be an 87 xr7 preferably with grey interior, little to no rust, running or not that doesnt matter. I live in Michigan and Im not sure how far Ill travel yet but I was hoping to not have to go any farther than Ohio or Indiana. Maybe even picking one up at catjam would be nice!

Dang TrickFlow, looks like you need my car, but I'm in Washington state.... a little farther than you wanted to travel. All I want is $500 for mine. Drive it home!! 87 XR7, Grey/ black leather interior, NO RUST at all, but the motor is tired, needs shocks/ struts replaced, and the brakes are due for a complete rebuild.

It has no rust at all? How about dings and dents? got any interior picts? Id like to look into getting a car shipped, the farther away from Michigan the better!
If anyone has had a car shipped or know who to contact about it could you let me know :D thanx!

I just looked at mapquest, the car is 37 hrs away and 2500 miles! What would that cost?!?

Theres a small surface rust spot, but a little scuf, and it's gone. I think there are a few dings in it, but nothing major at all. I'll look it over better today and get some pics for you.

lots of picts please! I looked into shipping and the minimum cost was $700 terminal to terminal so I need to see if the car is worth the trip! Thanx.

It may be another day or so to get pics, we have had a hell of a weather situation past couple days. Hailing and major rain. Been a great mild winter (70 degrees 2 weeks ago), so we need the rain. I did do another walk around, and found two rusty spots, but not major cancer, just surface spots. The one spot is starting to bouble though (at the base of the back window)... I will get a close up pic of that for you. I found a couple small dings, but they shouldn't a problem at all. The only thing I see that would be of concern would be the rusty spot at the back window since that is the spot they usually start to go at, but like I said, even that isn't too bad. The other spot I found is at the right rear rocker panel just below the molding, paint had chipped away or something, and got surface rust on there.

$700..... you could take a grey hound bus out here, then drive the car home for less than that. Just be sure to pick up a case of oil before leaving here, she leaks pretty good...LOL I still throw my wife in it everyday for her commuter rig, 65 miles per day at least

Well, you definately don't want the car now, my wife got t-boned this morning driving to work. The passenger side door and quarter are munched..... She's OK, but the car is totaled. Sorry man, good luck in the hunt.

still got the car? im sorry to hear about your wife and i hope she is ok, but iv been look'n at the poste for a while but didnt have time to post. im fairly close to you and was wondering about the black leather back seat. and any other interior stuff you may have. if amie didnt take the car, i would have. again, sorry to hear about the accident.

Well Im still looking if anyone eles has something for me, Im willing to ship or travel mostly anywhere to pick up an XR7, If I need to come pick the car up it needs to be in good running condition to make the trip back. Thanx.

hey TrickFlow, i live in michigan and iv been seeing 87-88 cougars going up for sale around here like crazy after i got my 87 LS makes me a lil sad lol. If i see one that is XR7 ill post it for you and get ya a number.

Manson, if your in South Jersy, your about 3000 miles from me..... LOL I'm in Washington State not D.C. LOL The mistake is made alot...LOL Kinda funny, a guy was buying stuff like mad from me on ebay then he realized, after I sent him the shipping cost, I am not on the east coast..... but he still followed through on the payment, and I cut him a little bit of a deal, so all turn out cool.

Im downriver from Detroit. Iv seen soo many cougars popping up around here. Never been around here before, i found mine after searching forever, and then as soon as i got it, theres one for sale down the block from me, dont know where it came from, but it was there. Made me kinda mad lol.
