:punchballs:

and as far as the copper gaskets, not sure.  Never heard anybody talk about anything other than the 1035 on turboford.  Some run the 8993 and have it lasting.  When I originally put that head on it, I had the head surfaced, but didnt do the block.  New engine may have that done.  Not sure.  I have been fighting a misfire above 26 psi and I think that was partly the cause.  Again not sure:mad: But it will be doing :burnout: again shortly:evilgrin:

I was running the 8993 and had several bouts of light detonation and it held up fine.  My buddy has run them on his 10 sec SVO also.

Once you get your misfire/tune corrected, it should hold up fine.

What ignition/plugs you running?
Mike

I hope your joking. You might as well be trying to filter oil with paper mache...

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Google it. FRAMs are a POS filter. Purolator filters are some of the best. I run Motorcrafts on my T-birds which are just re-labeled Purolator's.

Don't bother with the 1035, they're actually designed for a race oriented application, where the fire ring doesn't exactly meet the combustion chamber where its supposed to.

Run an 8993, with it running properly, it'll last a long time. I ran 22psi of boost for the longest time, on brown top injectors at 40psi of boost. When I pulled the AFPR off, I blew a gasked...in Ohio.

Thats mine.
It's Gumby's fault.

I've got a crane HI-6R with msd wires and 768 motorcraft plugs.

maybe it will run right after this, lol.  I'm kinda glad it did it close to home and did it when it did, because I thought something looked kinda screwy with a valve in #4 with dads borescope.  So far I havent found what I saw, so I dont know what it was, maybe just a reflection.  Maybe I will get the cam lined up right this time too, rofl.
