Do T/C's and XR7's have the same frt cover? March 25, 2009, 10:37:01 AM In this dumb state you are suppossed to have a frt license plate and I cant bring myself to putting holes in a perfectly good cover. I have a frt cover from a 85 T/C that a guy gave me that has the holes in it already and since I am going to repaint the XR-7(86) anyways will swap it if it will work. Hopefully someone will know. Do T/C's and XR7's have the same frt cover? Reply #2 – March 25, 2009, 12:29:20 PM The metal front license plate brackets from 1983-86 were the same between the Thunderbird and Cougar. They will interchange. If you want to do a nice mod/upgrade, find a Fox Mustang (LX) or Tempo/Topaz front plate holder. They're plastic and, with a little tpuppies of extra plastic tabs on the back, fit perfectly on the 1983-86 bumper cover. Quote Selected
Do T/C's and XR7's have the same frt cover? Reply #3 – March 25, 2009, 01:46:06 PM Thanks for the answers. I just might go searching for a plate holder like you suggested Eric. I guess I will swap the covers out and keep this one with no holes in it. Quote Selected
Do T/C's and XR7's have the same frt cover? Reply #4 – March 25, 2009, 01:57:40 PM Don't blame you, man...front plates ruin the looks of cars in most cases. Definitely keep your virgin cover locked up. :) Quote Selected
