I thought you could only get the 5-speed in 83? Was the automatic even an option in 83?
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

Yes.

But the car in that ad is a manual, not an auto

Oops. Didn't look close enough at the pics.  The description states a four speed overdrive auto.

Unless it was swapped, an '83 would have a C3 3spd, non-OD auto. The car in the pics is clearly a manual though.

Yeah.  Some days I'm blind and can read, and some days I can see and can't read. It's one or the other.

well,, we will never see this again.  the grandpa of all our cars and in perfect condition.  A wonderful representation of the era.
