I've thought about that as a quick 'n dirty 5 lug rear, but the overall width bugs me.

Guess I could always roll my fenders and get custom offset wheels...

I hate the overhang of our 1/4. I want to fill them out totally.

The snowflakes I'm gonna throw on sometime very soon. The clearcoat is peeling and flaking in a few spots, but otherwise these are perfect. NO curb rash, dings, or other blemishes. Sometime I'll take the coating off, and polish 'em up.

tires are Michelins, good tread, rubber is soft and pliable, not dry rotted or cracked:

It's starting to warm up, and because we had almost 10" of snow just a few weeks ago, the ground is terribly soggy. I can barely get a vehicle backed up to my shop without getting stuck, and in any case, the car is in the process of being taken apart for a front end overhaul.

Hopefully for an hour or so after work every night I can get out and do a little bit to it to further my cause. Revamping the suspension is pretty much my only goal for the rest of the year, and given the snail's pace that I tend to work on it with, I might be able to attain that goal, lol.

If, (and it's a big if) I get all the suspension yanked, cleaned, painted and reinstalled, I'll pull the engine and tranny, and start on a teardown and cleaning and freshening up over the winter. Maybe.

Anyway, that's it for now, thanks for lookin' and have a great afternoon! :D

"Freshening up over the winter"? It's almost spring !!! Or,are you talking about next winter.I'm glad I don't have suspension work to do.Now,about the replacement engine, that's a whole other story.....

Good work so far. You'll have to keep the car forever. What color is it going to be when you're done, and who's painting it?

Yeah, I mean this coming winter :hick:
This car will never leave me. I already have more work into it than any other car I've ever had, except my old Jeep pickup, and that was only because it tended to toss the TH400 about once a month..

As for paint, well, dunno really. Maybe a nice medium shade of metallic blue...but by the time I get to that point, who's to say lol.

I WAS going to go 5 lug on it, but since I found those nice 'Flakes, I'm sticking with 4 lug for awhile. Also leaves the option open for turbines, and I really like turbines...

BTW, stock TC rear rotors were non vented, right?

I've started taking the front suspension apart, I'm headed out to the shop in a few minutes to finish that up.

When that's done (read..if) I'll start on dropping the Stang rear and arms to make way for the TC rear and the CHE's.

And if I get done with all of THAT, I may throw on the TC hood I picked up last week. :D

We'll see. Pics will be forthcoming.

I would like to know how the energy suspension stuff changes the ride quality. Good work so far.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Overhang/ What overhang? My Sport doesn't have overhang.

With the 7.5, and snowflakes/60 seris on the back, it filled the wells decently...with the Stang 8.8 and the same wheel/tire, there's an assload of overhang. Can't wait to get the TC rear in there, but for more reasons than filling the gap, as it is.

Progress been slow, nothing noteworthy. It's gotten cooler again, down in the upper 30's, and I'm not gonna get sick over working on my heap lol.

The 17x10.5 wheels and 275's take care of filling the area back there pretty good.

You have a TC rear in yours, or still the stang rear? I remember that one of your Bird's had a stang rear at one point...I think..?

I have a TC rear, which is the same width as the Stang rear, but, the axles are Thunderbird,so,they are what push the wheels out where they should be.Stang axles would've brought them inward.

Not much to report, other than re-routing the clutch cable slightly, and adjusting the stop on the billet shifter. Second gear is pretty much problem free to shift into now.

Not sure if I posted or not, but the TC rear is in, replaced the caliper and rotor on pass. side, driver's side wants a new caliper, but it'll have to wait a minute.

The CHE's....yeah. EVERY Fox car need's em. Nuff said. I also have the red Energy Suspension spring isolators, and it really improved the feel. Just need some new shocks now...

The front: I swear by all that's (un)holy, tonight I'm gonna crack it apart to start upgrading stuff. Still need to get new ball joints, and tie rod ends, but till then I'm gonna sand, clean and paint whatever I can.

Soon as I get the front stuff done, I have a set of TC (no rust) doors to throw on...think I'll use Jerry's method top install 'em...since I'm not man 'nuff to wrestle them on by myself AND get the bolts started lol.

Pics later tonight.

Putting the doors on now, driver's side is on, adjusted, and needs the wiring shoved in and connected. Not sure if I'll get the pass. side done, but I'm hoping to...my blood sugar bottomed out and and I almost conked out while I was out there. Feelin a lot better now though.

I'm reallllly glad I kept the doors off of that TC...they're starting to get a bit of rust on the seam at the bottom, no doubt due to sitting on a pallet on a concrete floor since summer of '06.

What would a good method of stopping it consist of? Sing it with a wire brush, and spray it with some rustoleum till I can afford to do it the right way? I'm not worried about what it looks like, as the car is blue, black, and burgundy door and trunk lid, lol.

I'll have some pics here in a bit...had to come rest and eat for a few minutes. Pics soon. :D
