The Torino Update

I finally found my old Torino. While his health has gotten bad and the cars paint isn't as nice as when I sold the car, it's not bad and the whole car is still in great shape and should still run 11s with ease. I do not have the car yet, but am working on a deal with him

that runs 11s huh...how fast were the olde muscle cars anyway. i mean the everage stuff. i had a machanic try to tell me a stock hemi cuda ran 6s in the 1/4. mostly cause i pointed out that his mack tools calander had a mistake in it. i figured it was 1/8th.

no way in blue hell a stock hemi cuda ever ran 6's in either the 1/4 OR 1/8, traction woulda been the biggest prob.... :flame: LOL
What engine that Torino have in it?

Most stock muscle cars ran 13's and 14's on stock rubber. With a little tweaking they would get into the 12's Here is a link to some of the fastest. The 70' hemi cuda' on stock rubber ran 13.78@101.2 mph

Thanks, the original motor in that car was a 4bolt cleveland with a solid cam and closed chamber heads with adjustable rocker arms. It has had a 429 scj in it at one time, but I was actually happier with the cleveland with the 3500 stall so I dropped that back in it. He must have sold the nitrous kit off of it cause it is now awal, but oh well, I don't really care. A stock hemi running 6s in the quarter hahahahahahahahahaha, that's the funniest thing I've heard since the supposedly die hard Ford fan got upset cause he thought a buddy of mine had a mopar hemi in his Boss 429 Mustang.

Those Boss 9's were somethin' else though...I'd not at all mind havin' a
'69 Boss Mustang, although it'd get expensive fast, the way I drive...

If you really want one, I think Bobby would sell his for $25,000, and yes that is a good deal on his car, it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

After the string of bad luck I've had lately, I was due for some good. If you're talking about Bobby, he was smart and bought his Boss '9, 302 Boss, and Torino Talledagas when they could still be had fairly cheap and held on to them. As for the hemi, I've got a buddy that has a nicely built hemi in a GTX that runs low 6's in the 1/8th.

I don't get the luck, I just went down to talk to the guy and he sold it out from under me. Looks like I told one person too many that he was willing to sell it. Oh well, I know where I can get another one with a little 302 in it that I can make a clone out of. It actually runs pretty dang good for just having a 302 in it and it's prepped and ready for a fresh paintjob,(yes it's in primer now), all the emblems are MIA as is the rear bumper. I'm not telling a soul where this one is at until next week after I have the money

You never know. Maybe the one you're looking at now will be a better car in the long run. It certainly looks better IMO even in primer.

Yeah, it just won't ever be worth as much as the other one, which i don't really care about, I do however want to find the gt trunklid, and that hood(somebody took a flat hood and molded trans am scoops on it) has got to go in favor of a gt hood. The car is solid though, the doors open and shut like a brand new car. The only bad thing about these cars is the law sticks to your tail the whole time you've got em, at least that was my experience with the white one. Just happy to finally have another Torino, I'm picking it up tommorow

just as long as you don't expect anything to be done to it anytime soon.lol. as tight as money is right now, it may very well look exactly the same a year from now, got to pay it off before anything as i had to b borrow money to even get it in the first place. That's what happens when it takes six months just to find a regular job. At least I'll be working about 55-60 hours a week. If I can afford to go to cat jam, I'll probably drive it up there.
