spoogeho Ecsta XS

i havent posted anything about my car recently mostly b/c i havent been doin upgrades of changing anything on it. well, times are a changin! weather is cold, and the tbird is off the road till spring....a few small things are in the works, but the major upgrade this winter is TIRES.
my old tires were comin up on 7yrs old, and even though they were showing 1/2 tread they had so many heat cycles in them the compound was just worn out. horrible traction when cold, greasy when hot; they were junk. i did what i could to use them up in a few autoX events, and now they are done, gone, retired.

another reason i waited to replace them was the rumors that spoogeho was bringing out a new autoX/road course tire. the release date was pushed back a couple times, but they just recently released the Ecsta XS in a few sizes, including the 245/45/17 i had been waiting for!
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=spoogeho&tireModel=Ecsta+XS

i ordered a set, and went to have them mounted and balanced this morning. please excuse the dirty wheels, i havent gotten that far yet.

i cant wait for the weather to break so i can put some miles on these to get the mold releases off before i hit the first autoX :burnout:

Nice looking tires, I just got 245/45-17 Riken Raptors put on the Mustang wheels cause my budget is like Vinnie's. :giggle: It's no biggie since I still have the turbines and spoogehos for winter. That said, I still can't wait for warm weather! :hick:

the Riken Raptors, are some chineese korean brand, i would rather go to wal-mart and buy the cheap'o Douglas, I loved them on my 69 Falcon, the thing was too light to ever really get traction in foul weather, but in the dry they were great. Ive driven several cars at work with those tires as well as my friend who has them on his grandam which we road trip quite a bit in, they were great the first 5k but after that they stopped that threshold squall i love so much from my kuhmo. the compound is certainly all wrong for my taste

This guy had a 71 Mustang with a pretty quick Cleveland, wanted to go autoxing with me.  He hadn't bought tires yet.  I suggested a particular combo of Hoosiers and wider wheels.  "No, no, I'm going with the Eagle ST's on 14x6's, they're good enough."  This was when Eagle STs were lame by even Goodyear's standards.  He had decided on a certain combo and that was that.  Raised white letters!  No amount of suggestions, from subtly polite, to blatantly rude got him to change his mind.  The Monday following the race, "So where do I get Hoosiers?"

BTW, what's a "chineese korean"?

that something that the qualification are so low ,that  the chineese sub contract it out to the korean
remember it easier to fix them, than to find them after they been crushed.

Your closed minded-ness knows no bounds...

BTW, that's the closest thing to grammatically correct I've seen you post.  If you truly think that Korean products on the whole are inferior to Chinese products....

When you join the rest of us who are now in the year 2009 perhaps you'll see where we're coming from.  It's one thing to be pro-American and I commend you for that.  It's another altogether to be in denial about the quality of non-US made products.
