First,You really should install it and to a piston to valve check.I have flat tops and the E303 is fine.I'm also using E-7 heads. You will need Mass Air as well. The wiring kit can be had from Ebay,or,you can fab your own fairly easily.I like the kit because the wires are color coded, and I wanted the harness to look factory under the hood. You'll also need a computer to run it all and a Mass Air meter and sensor, and injectors. The computer is the costliest part of the whole deal. Most likely you still have the E-6 heads.Grab a set of E-7's from an EFI pickup at the salvage yard for cheap. That's my opinion. They are working great on my engine.Once I swap engines,I'll go with GT-40's or aluminum heads. But for now,my combo has been great. If you haven't upgraded the exhaust, you really should. If you're on a tiny budget, grab a pair of factory Stang headers and an H or X pipe.Factory H-pipes can be had as well, but the aftermarket ones seem to cost about the same.Do you have a floor or column shifter? If you have a column shifter, you may have to adjust the shift linkage to let you fit the headers and exhaust. The factroy headers are cheap and easy to find, and should work fine.If you look around, there are aftermarket headers on Ebay for a fair price as well.

It's worked for some, and not for others from what i have heard. As for me,it's fine.Do you already have any parts to start,or are you just making the list?

i have gt40 cobra heads with 1.6 rr,65mm throttle body,gt40 tubular intake(upper and lower),bbk cold air induction system(but no mass air),19lb injectors..i think thats all
i got a really good deal on everything ,my heads are new and they came with the rockers for $200 =)

i've been feeling impatient and just want to throw everything on as is but my logical side is telling me to do the bottom end work and setup for mass air

oh yeah about the exhaust!i got a y pipe right where my ler USED to be and just split my pipes to run out either side by the rear tires..i dont know if you can see it on my avatar or not.as far as performance goes i cant feel a huge difference but it sounds badass:D  do you think i should redo my exhaust once everything is installed?

Also do i use the a9p or a9l mass air computers combined with a da1 speed density ecu to work?OR does is mass air computer the only one i need..
i had a friend who told me i need both so i already bougt a da1 speed density computer from a 87 mustang

I really don't think the GT40's and the cam will work together with the flat top pistons, you'll need pistons with valve reliefs. When you go Mass Air,the DA1 computer will be long gone. You can't combine the computers. You probably don't need to listen to your friend (no offense) if he's giving that kind of info. The A9P or A9L will actually work (I've seen them range in price on Ebay from $75.00 to almost $200.00).I'm using the A9P.It worked great with the AOD I had,and it works great with the 5 speed. The DA-1 probably won't work well with the E303 cam. Some may disagree, but I'd bet you could use the heads if you used a stock Mustang H.O cam.But combining the GT40's and the E303 will probably end up with a few bent valves. As I stated before, you better check piston to valve clearance.I'm not telling you to do anything at all, only what did work for me.

What Vinnie didn't tell you is that he's over revved his flat top 5.0 with the E303, tagged a piston and bent a valve...

Required pulling the head to  repair... Yeah it works just fine...

I missed a shift and went WAY to high on the revs.Since then, the engine has been great.I've ran the car since pretty hard, done some tire spinning playing around, and haven't had any problems at all.I have revved the engine to 6300 with no bent valves.I RARELY,if ever, will see those numbers messing around with the car on the street.I said it twice I think, check the piston to valve clearance. Some have had success with this combo, some have not.I've been in a few "races" (mildly put),and the car performed exceptional.I make sure I hit the shift when I should.LOL.When I had the AOD in the car,I never had any over revs to worry about. As I stated before........I'm not telling anyone what do,only what worked for me.I think a couple of others have done the E303 cam swap here as well with flat tops with good results.

yeah I agree.... :shakeass:  as for me, I have over revved mine quite a bit (missed a gear a few times at the track just before my T5 blew:punchballs: ..  explains why I started missing the gears... LOL) and had no problems..  I also have a video of the Dyno operator bouncing mine of the rev limiter TWICE  with no ill effects....

so I would say Vinnies is an issolated inccedent.....  maybe?
