Update on my 88 xr7. Reply #30 – January 22, 2009, 09:50:12 AM that is a good price, especially to have the frame fix properly. And also to have a rust free Cougar back on the road rather then in the s yard.... Quote Selected
Update on my 88 xr7. Reply #31 – January 22, 2009, 10:06:48 AM Thanks everyone! It is a little out of what I wanted to spend but I mean what are you to do! I want the car fixed so its worth it. Actually about the rust thing...my dad found rust under the mud flap on the driver side fender but that is the fender getting replaced :D. So that's a good thing. I can't wait to get my car back and running! Quote Selected

Update on my 88 xr7. Reply #37 – January 27, 2009, 04:50:23 PM Went up to the shop today and took some pictures...When they took the fender off they found the windshield washer bottle was cracked but im getting a new one.All the frame work is pretty much done. They are painting the new parts then putting it back on.The pinstripes are going to be a little different because they cannot buy new they have to duplicate. The air conditioning is broken and I would have to put a whole new system in because mineis not eco friendly so i will deal without. Update on my 88 xr7. Reply #38 – January 27, 2009, 04:53:52 PM I have a fluid container. $5.Whole new system? I would think it would just be the condenser that is damaged. You can convert to 134a with everything else you already have. I have a condenser too but Im putting it on my car.... someday. Quote Selected
Update on my 88 xr7. Reply #39 – January 27, 2009, 05:27:15 PM It's nice to see another Cougar restored. Yours is about the only cougar I've ever seen that looks exactly like mine. I even have the same original wheels in my American Racing wheel boxes. Do you have any interior pics? I'd like to see if it looks like my cougar. Good luck with the restoration & hopefully everything will workout. Quote Selected

You can still get replacement parts and,,,, get your existing system charged up with r134 at the very least. Car looks great so far, frame work looks like it went pretty simple. It wasnt as bad as you thought was it?You wont know exactly how good of a tweeking job they did until body parts go on and you notice stacks of shims here and there. Quote Selected
