I know what you mean about these cars growing on you. I was about 8 or 9 when my parents bought my cougar new in 1988 I thought it was the baddest car around for a long time, and finally got to drive it to my Senior Prom in 1997 & then bought it from them a year later for $3000 with only 40,000 miles on her. This was the first car I bought myself & I'll never get rid of it. Good luck with your restoration!
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]1988 Cougar XR-7. My parents specially ordered this car with every option accept leather seats in 1988. I bought it from them in 1998 & since then have installed American Racing wheels (still have factory mag wheels in boxes), ceramic coated headers into dual Flowmaster 50 series lers with single into dual stainless tips, 4 row radiator, B&M Transpak, converted to Mass Air with cold air intake, etc..

Well they needed the money & if I didn't they were going to trade it for a different car.

yeah, know how it is....my '88 Ranger GT i SPECIAL ordered in '88 got hit in 2001, and it still looks just like this.  i just can't let her go after 357,000 miles.  got her the week i started dating my wife....just means to much.....

Ahhhh yea now the garage floor sounds familiar, forgot about it. :hick:  Interesting.
 
Ill second vinnie, Id read the book too and then ask you to write more books. LOL  About what I have no clue but I'd still demand more books anyway:rollin:  I think everyone else would too.

2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
