c4/c5 ?? December 26, 2008, 05:54:26 PM I was wondering if the pump, input shaft and planetary from a C5 will swap into a early style C4. Can someone tell me what the real differences are between the C4 & C5ThanksDoug Happy Holidays. Quote Selected
c4/c5 ?? Reply #1 – December 26, 2008, 07:28:29 PM A C5 is essentially a C4 with a lockup converter and metric fasteners. Because of the lockup I'm doubting anything on the input shaft end of the tranny would interchange... Quote Selected
c4/c5 ?? Reply #2 – December 27, 2008, 01:46:43 AM Pump....Maybe. Anything else. NO. You would have better luck attempting to use it in a AOD. Quote Selected
c4/c5 ?? Reply #3 – December 28, 2008, 10:07:15 PM Accualy the C5 has a messed up centrifugal lockup system...real gay. i HIGHLY suggest swappping the C5 vb out for a C4 unit and the C4 bell....that is the best stock option you can do :) Quote Selected
c4/c5 ?? Reply #4 – December 31, 2008, 01:05:47 PM I was told that not all c5's had lock up converters? Does anyone know the difference in bell housing from the C4 to C5. Or maybe the difference in converter size. For the vb, Im assuming its out of the new C4 rather than the older C4. Is that a direct swap or is there modifications needed. Quote Selected
