no, no, that was on my car.....  disregard that.... i had an eec-iii harness and grafted an eec-iv harness to it :)  you don't have that wire....

i just went outside and did a little diag (you can do that in fla at a quarter to midnight barfooted and in shorts :hick: ), and i found that that wire was indeed a switched 12v source....  when i turned the key to the on position it lit, while holding in start it stayed lit, and when i let go of the key it kept pumping out voltage :)

Alright. Im a little confused as to what should be connected where. Im sitting here looking at the manuals but im not seeing a starter selonoid with all the wires attached. Any idea what wire is on the wrong side?

is your solenoid a diamond looking 4 pr0nged, or the cylinder looking one?

looking over my car, my wiring may not help.....  my starter is the small version and has a power lead directly from the battery and another power lead from the bottom of the starter solenoid....  if your is like that, all my power wires are on the top big post, the only wire on the bottom big post goes to my starter, the wire on the left small post goes to my main engine wiring harness, so i'm not sure where it goes, and the wire i added on the right small post goes to the 12v switched power source that retains power through the start cycle

hope that helps

one of these days i'm going to get a full harness and get rid of that rats nest :)

p.s. my 91 evtm (for the engine) isn't much help for the starter solenoid wiring either, only my 83 evtm shows it even exhists... yeah ford :)

Well there was 2 wires on the side with the starter, one had a bunch of fuseable links, so i swapped it over to the other side, and.... she fired right up, and kept running. Thanks a lot man for the help, I really appreciate it. I was really hoping I could hear the bird run this weekend, thanks. Its been a year long project and now its over( i mean it still needs to be cleaned up and tuned up and so forth), but all the hard stuff if done. Thanks Again, I owe you one!

only beecause you happened to be up around midnight and signed onto the forum, otherwise it'd probably still be banging my head against the wall. I was begining to think the ecm might be bad, but nope, just a wire only getting juice when the key was turned lol. :)

You the man!
