Look at this masterpice

sorry for the chevy trick, I don't care much for nascar nor do I like Dale but this is a very cool build. The only thing that was sad was the fact it had a V-6 no muscle under the disguise.

He was the last of the true racers. The closest we have now is Tony Stewart. I honsetly havent watched a full race in about 2 or 3 years now. They are ruining the sport.

I like it, I think I would have bought some different steelies though and did a painted aluminum spoiler.

Actually, that thing has the Supercharged 3800. Nothing to sniff at, anyway.

Yeah, the rims do need the correct look and wider tires would help why skimp on this job

I was never an Earnhardt fan, but I would never place whiny-girl, hypocrite Stewart even in the same league.

I also dont like NASCAR replicas, but that one is at least done properly for the most part. Better wheels would really set it off.

I concur. IF NASCAR had said "If you can't pass without trying to wreck someone, GTF off the track" the guy might still be alive today.

But the toothless tattooed hairy backed 4th grade educated fans that make up a large segment of the fan base would have rioted if NASCAR had done that.

So it's their fault for allowing it to go on because "it was good for the sport", and HIS fault for not being good enough to pass without bumping other drivers out of his way

I’m curious what makes you say that. I’m not doubting you, I just don’t see the “Supercharged” on the side like my 2004 has. The one in the pics says “MonteCarlo”

I don’t know a lot about them yet (just recently got mine) but I do know
The Monte SS was built with both the SC and normally aspirated 3.8 as well as a another engine. (Service manager at the Chevy dealer was showing me his 2003 SS.. it is not supercharged)
The SC wasn’t offered until 2004 (mine is the first year, or so the service manager told me)
My Supercharged 3.8 MonteCarlo SS says “Supercharged” in place of the “MonteCarlo” on the sides just in front of the SS emblem.

And your correct the Supercharged 3.8 is nothing to sniff at, this thing pulls hard.

and it's anything but Rice!

I often wonder about the mentality going into these replica cars. I mean, if you're that die hard of a NASCAR fan that you want your own street version, that's cool and all--go for it. But when it comes time to sell you'd better be able to find somebody with that same passion...or else you'll be like the owners of the Bill Elliott Thunderbirds we see every so often. Nice cars, respect them for what they are...but would you really want one in your garage? So far that answer is a resounding "No", at least on the T-Bird side. The bounds of taste are limitless over on the GM side... :hick:

Some of his driving though is old school. Not anymore. He is nothing like the REAL drivers that Nascar was built up from.

My mistake. I thought they had supercharged the 3.8 SS by that time. I should have looked it up first.

And no, the car itself is far from rice.

It's the addition of stickers and enough billet stick on items to give your car the drag coefficient, and weight, of a pickup. Making your car look 'fast', in stead of making it be 'fast'.

If this is rice... (WRC)

...and this is rice... (Formula D)

...and this is rice... (looks like a bad knock off of an old HKS dragster)

...then so is this.

Easy Chief, That racing. Bump push get them lose, whatever it takes. Sr didn't just ram his way though the pack to the front. If you watch he gave taps and then if you dint want to move he made you. Nascar isn't like Indy cars (yet), the wreck wasn't intensional. I wish it wouldn't have happened for the sake of the sport and his family but it did. It has nothing to do with being a good enough driver to pass without bumping anyone. Thats the sport. We don't tell Boxers not to punch each other in the head because it might cause head trauma. People can die from anything. Some take more risk than others and these drivers do every weekend.

And yes I have all my teeth, non hairy back and am in college now.

I wasn't talking about all fans, and didn't mean to offend. BUT, I'm sure you know the type of fan I'm talking about.

I've been a fan since going to races at Texas Motor Speedway in College Station....and that was a LOOOOOOONG time ago. And from what I've seen, the sport really hasn't progressed, except in terms of safety. And yes, there is SOME bumping in all racing. BUT....we're not talking about Friday night at the local 1/4 mile dirt oval and speeds of maybe 100mph. I don't remember seeing Petty etc knocking people out of their way back in the day.

I've raced Porsches in the past. And I can tell you either your car is faster than the guy in front of you, or it isn't. And if it is, you SHOULD be able to get around them without knocking them into the infield.

I stand by what I said. He was a hazard on the track, and it was just dumb luck, or maybe the grace of God that kept him from injuring or killing another driver. IF they (NASCAR) had done something, IF he wasn't trying to block an obviously faster car, he might still be alive and racing today.

by "by that time" do you mean you can tell the year of the Monte in the pics? Body lines are just like my 04. I have yet to find the lines to distinguish between years.. haven't looked ether but if you know the differences please share

Difference between those years are none whatsover. You would notice big differences if there were any. Ive repaired them all. Now all cars have at least a span of 5 years where all body parts are identical, and I mean every body panel, light, trim everything.

i quit watching nascar after he died
was my childhood super hero
i wrote a paper in elementary school about him when he died. If he wasnt trying to hold back the pack though he wouldnt have got cliped IMHO
