Boss 302 maybe? I heard they'll be dropping the 6.2 Hurricane in it from the Raptor at some point too. Quote Selected
Well - They finally spilled the beans - 2010 'Stang Reply #77 – April 05, 2009, 04:44:09 PM I'm one person who won't be brushing the Genesis Coupe off any time soon. Consider that their $26G top line V6 is making a whole 9hp less than the current Mustang, with a DOHC V8, and you can see why Ford was a bit scared. I bet the weight difference would have put the numbers pretty close. I have that issue, but haven't had the time to read the article yet. Anyway, this is their first attempt at a RWD sports coupe. If they're even close, their second try might be the ticket.I don't think you'll see a V6 ecoboost Mustang any time soon. That has power that trumps the 4.6, with much better fuel economy, and I don't see Ford sacrificing the V8 in the Mustang any quicker than Chevy would for their Corvette. We may see the current dog of a V6 model phased out for an ecoboost 4, though. People are getting this nostalgic idea about the SVO now, so it might even be a really successful model. Quote Selected

Sounds like the turbo 4 is the one to mod. Quote Selected

Now I was under the impression the V6 was going to be replaced with a V6 DI Ecoboost but this could be much better. Quote Selected

Consider that their $26G top line V6 is making a whole 9hp less than the current Mustang, with a DOHC V81. The 4.6 3V is NOT a DOHC.2. I somehow doubt that v6 has the torque spread of the 3V, one of the shining attributes of that motor and a defining factor pf a ponycar/muscle car IMHO.Quote from: oldraven;265953I don't think you'll see a V6 ecoboost Mustang any time soon. The 3V was exactly what was needed.....in 2001. It was a bit late to the party, but such has been the way with the mod motor. I've heard the 5.0 will get direct injection albeit not at the initial release. Hopefully it does come at the motors inception.http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-coyote-v8.html Quote Selected

Sounds like the turbo 4 is the one to mod.I know, I was talking about the DOHC V8 in the Mustang ("Consider that their $26G top line V6 is making a whole 9hp less..."). I guess my sentence structure went to pieces there. I'll take my lumps for the DOHC vs. OHC bit though. You're no doubt right about the torque too, Demon. The only way the Genesis is going after the Mustang is on price point. The car is more directly competing with the 370Z and RX-8. Import Sport never really has gone after Domestic Muscle. My point was that it's an impressive first crack at a RWD Sports Coupe, and their second generation might close the gap quite a bit.And Ecoboost V8? Does anyone have any links to this info? I haven't heard a word about a turbocharged V8 coming from Ford. I'd be surprised to even see the Ecoboost V6 in there. If we did, people would be skipping the GT altogether, with the Shelby as the only Mustang above the TT V6 with a performance advantage. Ford is pretty well known for protecting the Mustang and what it stands for, even if that means sacrificing performance to keep a N/A V8 under the hood. Quote Selected

No Mustang in the S197's has a DOHC V8 right now. Only the Shelby and thats way out of the Genisis price play ground. The old Fox4 Corbras had a twin cam V8 but thats used. Quote Selected

Well - They finally spilled the beans - 2010 'Stang Reply #88 – April 07, 2009, 09:34:34 AM I just got confused by your DOHC V8 comment. The Genesis Sedan had a Tau DOHC 4.6 V8. No need to get irritated just a little miscommunication. Quote Selected
Well - They finally spilled the beans - 2010 'Stang Reply #89 – April 07, 2009, 10:30:02 AM Well, it wasn't my first time being misread in this thread, and explaining the same thing was getting irritating. No worries, though. I do admit I screwed up on the number of cams in a Mustang GT. I honestly thought all 4.6's were Dual after '05. It's easy to see I'm not a Mustang guy. :D Quote Selected
