What did you do to chip them off like that?

I chipped the inside of my ring gear when my differential blew up & decided to use that as an excuse to get the 3.55's that I've wanted for a while (running out of gear at the track). I would get new gears if I were you - why chance it?

If, on the other hand, you're talking about the cross-shaft, then I think if you stick with Ford Racing gears the same cross-shaft will work. Also, setting up the pinion depth is much easier if you're replacing OEM gears (or even other Ford Racing gears if they were properly set up) as the shim calculation becomes much easier.
