A hour and a half after you think you are done, when you realize that you left the coil wire off of the distibutor.

M-14 or FAL?

HAving fired both in a stock and modified form, I would say the M-14.  pricewise, its cheaper to build an M-14 into an effective sniper weapon.  Plus, the FALs ive fired seem to be a bit more unwieldy to operate.

The quick answer?  They hate Fords.

The probably correct answer?

They like V-6s that rattle and spit intake gaskets,  they love replacing balljoints, and they love searching through 5000 options before slelecting the wrong fuel pump for their truck.....repeat 3 times before selecting the correct one.

Owning both, I prefer the ergonomics of the FAL platform, but I appreciate the "traditional" ergos of the Garand/M-14 platform.

AK or AR?

Birdman, if you don't mind, I'll take this one. AK because Palin is way prettier than Beebe! :D

Ok, I'll give you that one, as I like Saracuda myself. I am planning on seeing her again in 4 years....

Try again, AK47 or AR-15?

thats why I like the M-14. Im more traditional.

AR, hands down.  I carried an M-4 in iraq, modified of course.  I ony tore down the weapon completely 3 times in country.  the rest were simple wipedowns.  And i fired A LOT of rounds through it.  not one misfire.  Freefloating rail, custom grip, a red dor cco with removable iron sights, no carry handle and a tennifer bolt.  Absolute nail driver.  I wish i could have brought it when i got out....It was very wierd for a long time not having it with me.

I am a fan of both. For different reasons. Most of my ARs are "retro", but I do have an M-4-copy as well. I also appreciate the ruggedness and simplicity of the AK platform.

I may revisit this subject later, given your experience...

OK, Turbo-4 or V-8?
