Dyno Day ...The results are in....

I'll be taking the Sport to the dyno at the Vo-Tech on the 1st.I'll finally know what the old girl is putting to the ground.I'd like to see the numbers on paper instead of guessing.I'm betting around 250-260.I hope more, but I doubt it.They are opening the dyno from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.I'm 5th on the list to run. It's $10.00 for 2 pulls. Not too bad.Not a test and tune, just on and off due to time limits and the number of people who want to dyno their cars. Some will be left out I'm sure.More news as it happens.

Alright, the dyno results are in...The car made two pulls, the first pull was 166 hp. The clutch cable was way off,so,we let it out a ways, and still couldn't get the clutch to engage right after that,so,I pulled the thick floor mat down, and good to go.The second pull was 240 hp and 287 on the torque side.About right I suppose.I'm really not sure how to get any more power out of the Sport as she sits without adding new parts.....which isn't happening anytime soon, there's bodywork to tend to right now.Anyway,I'm happy enough with the Sport right now.Anyway, there's the follow up to the story. We're going to do another dyno day in March.Perhaps I can squeeze a little more out of the car by then.

Wow man you have 240 to the wheels. Wow. Jeez. I mean granted you have the cam too, but I think I'm definitely gonna push for getting some gt40s or something and a tmoss-ported lower for next year.

The laptop that was hooked up to the dyno showed the rpms, but not on the printout.I got the car up to 5100 rpms before I let off.I will try more next time. With the flat tops and E cam,I was afraid to get to crazy (I bent a valve a while back....remember?LOL).It showed the air fuel mixture (tube up the butt.....not mine),and the mph.I'm not sure how to scan, and I don't have a scanner. Now,if someone wants to give me an address, and will mail it back,I can send to someone to scan for me.I don't have access to one (scanner).

I took the car out after testing on the way home and took it up to 6000 rpms safely,so next time,we'll see what happens.I need pistons with valve reliefs, then,no worries.

On the "torque" part of it,that squiggly line above the torque line is the air fuel reading. It was great.Torque was pretty flat right across the graph.

Nice numbers. 240 at the wheels is very respectable. And don't forget, I want that clutch cable :D

I really was hoping for a little more power with the mods done, but,as I stated,I'm happy.I'm wondering if there's any more hidden power in there. As far as the cable,it's safely hanging in the garage.
