Retorquing Head Bolts

1984 Cougar, 3.8L

NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!!!!!!

I had my engine rebuilt and I'm leaking coolant from the head.  The AERA rebuilder doesn't want to mess with it -- wanted me to use K&W Block Sealant!!!!

Thought I'd try retorquing the heads but unsure of:

1)  Whether coolant will get trapped between head and gasket?

2)  Do I just retorque using the last torque setting (59 ft lbs) or do I need to reloosen all head bolts and start from scratch?

3)  If just retorque last setting, will the pipe sealant (hopefully they used it) used on the one bolt be OK (Have about 3000 miles since rebuild)?

4)  If loosen and start from scratch, then I guess I need to disconnect manifold,  pull head, etc. or a simpler solution?

Alternatively, can take to another shop, have them do the work (hope for best) and go after rebuilder for $$$$.

Is this a better option?

Thanks
