What do you think?

So I finally got my drivers license last week and since then i've been driving my dads 1985 cougar xr7 around to work and such. My dad has been looking around for a car for me and he found a 1988 cougar xr7 with 77k miles.
The guys asking price is 2495 but he will go down to 2000 and no lower.
The reason he won't go lower is because he put 2000 into it by replacing the exhaust and other things that went bad on it.
I offered him 1800 cash for it.
The only thing wrong with it right now is that I would have to replace the radiator hoses becuase they are original and are starting to leak.
There are a few but not very big rust spots and the interior is spotless. Its owner lives in arizona and he is 88 yrs old so he has been storing it on and off for the past 18 years.
I think thats all. So tell me good buy or not?
Here are some pictures of it and rust spots.

Nice car.If I was looking for one,I'd pay $2000 for it.I almost bought a red Cougar like that about 10 years ago.Great looking car in red.You don't see many red ones.Grab it if it runs good.

Well,if he wanted nearly $2500 for it,but he'll take $2000,it appears he did come down on the price. Also,it's only $200 more than you offered, and you did say he's had a lot of parts installed on it.More you won't have to do.Buy it.

I would try for under $2000. I see a lot of rust under the paint in the back end. and doors. looks like a little body filler in there too.
Other then that, it's in nice shape.
