ever screwed up paying bills

I just did.

Got in a hurry, had to stroke out a bunch of checks , stick on lables, the typical hurry up and get em out thing.

well,, I had this book of stamps laying by my bills book that i had forgotten thier intended purpose.

I stuffed my bills in the mail and a load was taken off my shoulders, this was two days ago.

Today the wife comes into my office and asks for a stamp and i fetch it.  She looks at me odd,,,,,I say "whaaaaat"

she says, so,,,,,these the stamps you been using?
me- yep, why
her- you do know these are 1c stamps dont you?
me -  fuuuuck:mad:

Apparently during the recent past stamps went up in price and i must have forgotten.  this book was all 1c stamps but has no amount marked on them,, just a green shield of some sort.

Top that one for the dumb ass award!
Called my Credit Card today and paid them fuggers over the phone though.  Tomorrow, ill handle the house payment.

I mailed the car payment this week with two "G" stamps on it... I checked awhile back with the PO and I believe they're worth .29... Sure not worth the few cents driving to the PO to buy stamps(wife had our supply with her)...

why are you guys mailing your bills in? it takes too long and stamps are expensive. Just get setup with a online bill payer service from your bank. My bank offers it for free. When it comes time to send some bills in you will be amazed how fast and easy it is and wonder why you wrote checks and mailed them in.

My ultimate goal is to have no bills.  It took a while, but I have got my two week pay-period down to where the check is for the next check's bills, that way I'm always ahead of the game.  But now to just keep up with the increase in stamp prices: :punchballs:

I do as Bob said, but a couple don't allow that, so to the mail box it goes.

i once sent in my car payment to my credit card company, i do only bill pay, so its not like it was a check. well my car loan company called and said they never recieved payment, then i looked back and saw what i did.

my credit card at the time was completely paid off, so they actually owed me money. needless to say it was a mess. i ended up paying my payment with the credit card that i sent the money to

I was soured by the city of Toledo on the whole online bill paying issue. I tried to pay a ticket off at the clerk of courts .com for Lucas county. A little bit later (I think it was like a week after the fine was due) i got a summons to court i was steaming mad and got a lawyer. He pulled the records and found out that they had rejected my Debit card yet they never told me that they had. So i had to miss a day of work eat the lawyer fees and court costs FUN yeah online bill paying is the future bleh.
