Chrome mirrors

My sons 83 Heritage has a small spot on the pass side mirror hsg where the chrome has peeled. Does anyone re-plate these type of things? I figure once its parked this winter I will have ample time to send it for repair if its doable. If you know of anyone please let me know. Thanks

I have never talked to anyone that got the mirrors (or grille or headlight buckets) rechromed for these cars.

My guess would be that you may have to disassemble the mirrors, and gut the glass, motor and wiring before anyone will touch them. That in itself is a little tricky. If you're successful at that, then you might stand a chance...the black trim ring around the housing will probably be very tricky, and I don't think that comes apart. So it might work, might not.
