mass air conversion

Got a question. I'm converting my black t-bird to mass air. My blue t-bird is already converted. So I was wondering if I could just use the mass air plug and wires from my blue bird and some how connect them to the a9l computer I will be useing for the conversion instead of buying the mass air wiring harness adapter? I cannot use the whole harness because it all fugged up. Thanks.

I converted the '87 Bird harness now in my TC to Mass Air before i installed it.. Ain't really a big deal... Check out this article, except for fuel pump relay location I believe it all pertains to a Bird or Coug same as a Stang.

Will the A9L work with an automatic tranny?I hear conflicting stories.

Thats exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much. But I have one more q. How do you go about adding pins? "c. The Signal (-) wire from the MAF meter harness needs an EEC pin which then gets inserted into position #9 of the EEC connector.
d. The Signal (+) wire from the MAF meter harness needs an EEC pin which then gets inserted into position #50 of the EEC connector."

Adding the pins is explained in the article, but I'll take a pix in a day or two...

Your AOD won't care in the least... my Bird seemed to run the same with the A9L as with the A9P. I tried it to see if that EEC was good, only ran it a couple of miles..

Call Interactive Systems & Technologies (1-800-820-1082), they have a mass air harness thats like 30 bucks. It's the four wire & plug set up for the maf sensor & comes with pins for the eec.( 89-93 style, 88 maf has 5 wire set up)
They also send instructions on what pins need to be moved in the eec plug, and what wire to attach to on the fuel pump relay. You can reuse all of your existing computer
harness.

I was going to go the Interactive Systems & Technologies route but I figured if I can do it for free + some time, why the hell not. I'd definetly appreciate those pics turbocoupe50 as I still couldn't find it in the article.

All that is necessary to remove/add pins is to remove the red center locking bar(see pix), it will push up from the back side(at the end). Then if you look inside at the connectors, you will see a small tab holding each one one in place. Just lightly lift it and the pin will slide out. To re install, just push it back in. Practice on your old harness so you'll get the hang of removing them.

On the Tab/Tad solenoids, I just added the pins in the correct position then spliced them into the original wire connections, leaving the SD pins in place.
