Small update on the car!  Redneck engineering alert: This week we made a patch which we drilled and tapped for a new drain plug.  We welded this over my old hole.  Problem with this was that the oil pan was so thin, I burnt a teeny tiny hole into it when welding the patch on.  So end result was that it still leaked a little...well you guessed it once you start redneck engineering stuff it kinda snowballs from there.

Today I used JB weld (the quick set stuff) all around my normal weld, let it set up for a few hours and then sanded it down and painted it.  Looks  near factory and doesn't leak a drop!  Hell of a lot better than pulling the pan.

Also last night my buddy and I took the car out for a spin (open exhaust and all) and decided to gag on it a little.  Even with the stock SO fuel pump I was shocked with how much of a difference the upgrade made!  This thing feels almost as fast as my Mustang!!  There are a couple of small issues still to iron out but I finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

This week I am going to make an exhaust appt and then next week it goes in for a complete tranny service and to get a couple of leaks on the trans fixed.

Lol...I just want to get this thing to a point where I can drive it.  Thursday it goes to the exhaust shop for new pipes.  I'm pretty excited about that...should sound tough with what I have planned.

Next week it goes in for a trans service and then I plan on driving it as much as possible.  The original plan was to take it on Hot Rod power tour 2nd week of June, but I just don't know if I can trust taking the car 8 or 10 hrs away from home yet!  I'll probably just take the 'stang again and blend in with the crowd. :(

Bummer, I was looking forward to seeing another Fox Bird on the tour.

I'm in the midst of doing a thrash on my car.  It won't be getting much of shake down prior to leaving on the 5th.

I will take it as long as you bring your tools and help me fix it when it breaks down.  lol.  I'm still on the fence...I am going to drive it as much as possible and if it seems reliable, it might go.  But don't get your hopes up. lol.

I always bring tools!  On a serious note though, no one wants to be on the side of the road...

Hope you are able to get things worked out in the next month.

I'm working on getting a P600 Procharger installed and tuned by the 20th.  You know how everything for a Mustang bolts right up to a our cars right? I wish!

Lol...yeah I would really like to enjoy the power tour and not be stranded in some no name town in Kentucky or something.  You know how it goes when you work on cars...you are always chasing something.  I noticed tonight that the car idles high in park so I am thinking maybe the IAC needs a good cleanin'.  I replaced every vacuum line I could so I don't think I have a vac leak.  If I get her going and it seems reliable who knows???

Man a Procharger!! What all stops are you going on?  I have to see this thing.  I am going from Dayton thru Bristol.

My cougar's oil pan rusted out within 5 years of the car being new.
I used that jb weld stuff to patch the hole for a couple years until I got the pan replaced.
It works great.

Man I've never heard of an oil pan rusting out!  Thats nuts.  I am always impressed with what a person can do with JB weld.
