brake upgrade alignment

I've been finally working on the 'bird again and last week I put the fox mustang 11" upgrade on.  Didn't really run into any problems except I had to modify the brake hoses a little to make them work with the T-bird brackets.

My problem now is that I trailered the car to the shop to get an alignment done (it was waaaaaaay toed in).  The guy called me and said he couldn't get it aligned right because the tie rods would not adjust as far out as they need to.  He said there would only be two threads left on the tie rod and that does not sound safe to me.

My question is has anyone had this problem with the T-bird tie rods not being long enough to work with the fox mustang spindles?  Did I miss something when I bought these parts and did the swap? It never fails when you think things are going great with a project...it all goes down the toilet.:toilet:

to answer my own question, the mechanic was wrong everything worked out fine.  Now I just have to get used to the new brakes.  With the stock MC and rear discs the pedal isnt near what I thought it would be.  It still stops better than it did though.

I will post pics sometime.

The pedal height might be do to the rear disc not being ajusted up.are your brake cables hooked up.

yes rear cables are hooked.  I got all new tc cables and put on when I swapped to the TC 8.8.

Anyone know where I can get the dust shields for 79-93 mustang front brakes?  When I got my upgrade parts the guy never gave me the shields.  Well I just figured I'd have to find some at a boneyard somewhere later on...but that is proving difficult.  I see that resoration supply carries them for newer Mustangs, but nothing for foxes.  I also saw some used on ebay but the buy it now was like $25 or $30 and then like $18 shipping...seems a little high.

Anyone know of a place a guy could get some other than the junkyard?
