The last nail in the Hybrid's coffin

I was alive and waited in gas lines during the first gas crisis.

They weren't prepared then and guess what happened to their memory after about 20 years?

I went into a gas station that was overcharging back in one of the 70's crisis and said "you got any gas", they said "right here", I said "I asked for gas, not gold" and did a major smoke show with my '69 GTO sliding sideways out of his rip-off gas station.

I'm hardly sympathetic...

The 'Stang story was on our local news as well. I don't know what they're drinking on that side of the state...it sounds like nothing but :bs: until they have solid proof.

Well, there is no "shortage" this day and age. Any "talk" of one is purely synthetic and speculation. The Arab/oil producing nations have even proclaimed this.

Is OPEC innocent.. NO, but MUCH of the price boom is based on the  American floor jocks talkiing up the prices for NO good reason other then profit.

Hey, no one said you have to trade anything in. :hick:

That stang is 110mpg now? It started as 80, then turned to 100 a day later. I call BS on that. (175mph and 0-60 in 3s. from 400hp? What is everybody else doing wrong?)

The MPG are begin speculated by the same folks that are messing with oil prices...

Yep, there was no shortage then either - only a manufactured one. Of course the speculators are bidding up the price and of course it's effing' bullshiznit, but there is one thing working in their favor - they know we are near peak oil production. The reason Saudi Arabia didn't up their produciton more is because they can't. And the moronic politicians talking about drilling here and there, so we can get oil in 15 years to the total of, yep, 3 friggin percent of world production max. causing a total of 5% difference in price 20 years from now. There is too much DOPE being smoked in this world. Wanna solve the problem? Hunt down the speculators and *&^*^ them.
