Finally finished front brake setup...

It took me forever, but i think i finished the front brakes yesterday.  13" cobra's, all stainless steel lines, '94-'95 cobra booster and master cylinder.  I think the lines came out well for my first time bending and flaring, etc...

The lines turned out well.  Nice clean install.

(PS....if you're not using the column shifter...remove it from the column;))

Dave,

Turned out nice and clean.
What do you have for brakes in the rear?
How is the pedal effort and feel with the Cobra booster & master cylinder?

i like it. the SS hard line looks nice!

one bit of advise; take the hose clamp you have securing the right front line to the k-member and slip a piece of heat shrink over it.
open the clamp, slip the heat shrink on it just like you would a piece of wire, shrink it, then reattach your clamp. this will help prevent the clamp from diggin into both your brake line and the powdercoated finish of you k-member.

I removed the actual shifter from the steering column.  I couldn't figure out how to get that linkage out from the engine well though without a great deal of trouble.  That's why I left it.  I have a B&M installed on the console right now.

Thanks for the compliment.  Brakes in the rear won't be done for a while, right now they're stock.  I'll be putting in a custom 9" and the 11.65" FRPP kit for it later this year.  I have no idea about the pedal feel yet, as the motor is on an engine stand right now getting rebuilt.  I haven't driven the car for over a year.  I blew a rusty front brake line, which prompted all this.  I hope to be back and driveable later this year.  Time and $$$, time and $$$...I don't have much of either right now.

That would work well.  I have already wrapped both the brake lines and K-member with several rounds of electrical tape before putting the hose clamps on.  I may change it to heat shrink for a neater look.  Thanks.

Roll-on Herculiner.  I stripped everything down to bare metal or almost bare metal with brake cleaner and a wire wheel.  Then everything gets 2 coats of Por-15 and 2 coats of Herculiner.  Kinda forms a thick, indestructable coating that lasts forever and you don't have to worry about scratching or chipping it...EVER.  It's not as clean looking as a nice paint job, but holds up great.

If you remove the column cover, you'll see where that shift rod attaches to the column. It's held in by a rubbery-type of grommet. Get yourself a large punch and your BFH and pound it out...the shift rod will pop out and then you remove the rod from the engine bay side. If you had the automatic brake release I believe you have to remove that part (white, semi-circular) from the base of the column before the rod will come out.

Brakes look great, BTW...nice job!

I was thinking about using that IF i ever do a new undercoating on my car. looks like it works good. Got any more pics of the car?

Did you have to 'modify' the strut tower to get that booster in?  I had the same unit when I did my brake setup and it looked to big to fit; that and I heard from other people it wouldn't fit without beating the strut tower.

edit: from what I can tell you didn't, but still thought i'd ask...

No, I didn't have to take a hammer to the strut tower.  It was a very, very, very tight fit though.  I did have to elongate and drill out a few of the booster mounting bolt holes, most notably the bottom left one that everyone always talks about as being the problem.  Yeah, it is a problem.  Once I enlarged a couple of the holes a bit I managed to sqeeze the booster in.
