Was @ Carlisle!  Shawn was there too!

ONLY 2 83-88 Cougars in the whole  show......

Went to the 1/8th mile track.....BONED both runs HARD!!!!

the car is deffinetly capable of low 12's in a 1/4, but a 2.6 60' on 36 PSI tires:hick: :hick: :hick:
isn't good!!!

What can I say....I hadn't even checked into the hotel yet and didn't have a tire guage to drop the pressure so I figured what the hell....I'm already here....Truly a run what you brung!

That was the second run!  The first was even worse...
Let's put it this way I'm really pissed at the guy in the box....It is impossible to drive around it the way the track was setup and after screaming that I didn't want any water, he threw it right down.  Had to get out of the run 100' from the line and came to a  near dead stop......got back in it and actually pulled a win against the bone stock '82 Country Squire I lined up next to:rollin:  I was in TOTAL  shock considering the 12 seconds it took:toilet:  That 60' was in the 2.2 range spinning HARD

Coulda been worse.  The car left without even a paint scratch and I learned to never forget a friggin tire guage.

I only wish my wife had gotten the first run on video.  It was comical!  She got a few pics of the car out of the hole though.....I'll post them later ;)

On a side not my car makes 318+ RW torque from 2500 RPM to 6200 RPM SAE corrected if I'm doing the math correctly....Dynoed on a 93 degree day with 21% humidity, dew point of 46 degrees, pressure @ 29.67" Hg, vapor pressure 1.53" Hg.  Even in that  air it was over 300 for that whole span.

Thanks for the birthday wishwes! :burnout:

Like I said 12.1 on the first one where I let out.

Second was a 9.2 with a 2.6 60', let off about 30 feet early too.  They moved the start/stop lines from last year.....Guess which one I zeroed in on?  Like I said total bonejob on both....Even lifting my trap was 81.91 MPH.....THAT impressed me.....Reaction time was a +.294 with a VERY shallow stage...Held it @ 1500 till the 3rd yellow gave it half throttle and roasted hard, let up a little, bout 3/4 throttle till 2nd then mashed it and let off early.

Learned ALOT about this car.  The Cougar is more forgiving on the street tires....
