Feeler thread for my '88 Sport...south jersey
Well, I was just presented with the idea of buying my buddies '71 Maverick that we built up earlier this year...but that means I would have to part with the 'Bird. First the basics...it's obviously a 5.0, it has 170k miles, currently an AOD (already have 5-speed pedals installed...have every part for the T-5 conversion waiting). It's a factory black car.
The good...
buttstuffog gauges
Factory floor shift
clean 10-holes with excellent tires
11" brakes up front with new struts/ball joints
new radiator
new hoses
H.O. upper plenum & throttle body
H.O. headers
Mac off-road H-pipe into stock lers/tails
new serp belt
fresh tune up
recently compounded and waxed paint
deleted smog pump
130amp 3G alternator
Chuck's poly motor mounts
8.8 rear w/ worn trac-lok
The bad...
the body is very straight except for some small dents and dings
pass. window is off the track
driver window works but needs attention
the interior is a little ratty due to the power sunroof leaking
a/c probably doesn't work...never tried it
headliner is py
the trunk lid is blue...the original was in bad shape, replaced it with the lid from my old 'Bird
trans cross member is pretty rotten, will include good replacement
I was going to convert the car to a T-5, but if I'm going to sell it, then I'll just include all the parts for the swap. As previously stated it already has the 5-speed pedals installed. I have the trans w/aftermarket steel input bearing retainer, new unused flywheel with dowel pins, clutch fork and throw-out bearing, new unopened roller pilot bearing, King Cobra clutch with low low mileage, cable and all necessary hardware...it also has a Hurst short throw shifter and I'll be including the cross member and poly trans mount with it.
Car is located in Sicklerville, NJ 08081
I'd like to get $1500 out of it, but I want to see what you guys think...keep in mind you'd easily spend half of that for a T-5 swap and probably still have to buy odds and ends.
Thanks,
Don
