Dash Modification May 23, 2008, 11:13:55 AM Hello all,I've finally decided to put the dash cap i bought on, and I now have a cool idea. You know those triple guage pods for 05-07 mustangs? I'm going to have my local stereo shop flesh it into the actual dash cap for me, so I can do away with the a-pillar mount. I think this will be a bit easier to deal with, as well as easier to run the wiring/tubes/lights to.What do you all think??Heres a pic of the pod I'll be using: Quote Selected

Dash Modification Reply #2 – May 23, 2008, 01:12:16 PM [puts away magnifying glass] Where are you thinking about locating it? Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #3 – May 23, 2008, 01:46:44 PM I would think that the only place it would work is right on top in front of the driver. The rest of the dash goes down hill. Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #4 – May 23, 2008, 03:26:59 PM I would be interesed in hearing how the dash cap install goes. I purchased one and want as much info as I can prior to messing with it. I have already been out to COOLCATS that has a bunch of great instructions, but it is always beneficial to hear from others as well. Thanks! Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #5 – May 23, 2008, 06:35:18 PM Its going to be centered above the center stack in the vehicle. It will be contoured to fit right....plus the gauges look like they angle towards the driver. If need be, we can build up the one side so it sits a bit more level. Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #6 – May 24, 2008, 06:10:02 PM Yup, there's surprisingly little room between the dash and windshield. Be sure to post pics when you're done. Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #7 – May 25, 2008, 02:41:26 PM It would be nice if you could get that to work. Otherwise you'll have to resort to this.It turned out alright, but I did have to, ahem, "modify" my factory trim. I'd really like to see how the dash pod turns out on your car. Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #8 – May 25, 2008, 02:42:54 PM Also I would think if you took a pillar one and threw it onto the dash the angles wouldnt be to far off, but I'm not sure. Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #9 – May 25, 2008, 09:27:27 PM i want pics when its done i am sure it can be made to work but i really want to see the finished product. Quote Selected

Dash Modification Reply #11 – May 29, 2008, 11:01:35 PM What gague pods will fit on our cars? I bought a single pod on ebay, and would like to by another single, but I am not sure what it came out of. What have you guys used? Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #12 – May 29, 2008, 11:22:27 PM You will probably need to look for Mustang/Capri applications. Similar yet different in the most inconvenient ways. Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #13 – May 29, 2008, 11:50:47 PM Here's a better pic. Not the exact same one, but it gives the idea..... http://mrt-direct.com/concept/appearance/2005+/interior.php Quote Selected
Dash Modification Reply #14 – May 30, 2008, 11:34:53 AM Thanks. I think it would be relatively easy to mold into the dash ( My buddy has so MAD fiberglass skills). I'll post pics when i get them! Quote Selected
