Twin Turbo Engine Pictures Reply #7 – May 18, 2008, 10:26:10 PM It has been in my blue bird for the last 4 years but I pulled it out to install a new oil pump to keep the turbos happy so I cleaned up a few things while I had it out. In a year or two I will most likley be designing a completly new twin turbo set up for a 351 engine that can make more power with out spliting the block. Quote Selected
Twin Turbo Engine Pictures Reply #9 – May 19, 2008, 07:52:09 AM I see you have a breather....Is your PCV system still functional? Quote Selected

Twin Turbo Engine Pictures Reply #11 – May 19, 2008, 05:52:00 PM Can you give some details about your setup? Brand of turbos, amount of boost, fuel system, cost, etc...I'm really liking this and may go to a turbo setup in the future. Quote Selected
But I heard a Toyota I-6 is the hot ticket. Reply #12 – May 19, 2008, 06:17:16 PM Is that paint or a thermal coating on the exhaust, and how did it hold up?Oh yeah, effin' sweet setup. Quote Selected
Twin Turbo Engine Pictures Reply #13 – May 19, 2008, 09:11:07 PM Just outta curiosity what kind of internals are you running? Stock forged or aftermarket? Been pondering a similar setup myself just havent decided on a plan of attack yet. There just aint nothin like the sound of a V8 with two whistles on it. Quote Selected
Twin Turbo Engine Pictures Reply #14 – May 20, 2008, 12:53:57 AM The coating on the headers it actually paint made for BBQ grills and seems to do pretty good. This will be the first time I have used this particular brand of BBQ paint by Krylon which was recommended to me by Evergreen turbo who put together these turbos for me. My down pipes from the turbos to the x-pipe are ceramic coated. My fuel system consists of a 255 Walbro intank pump with 42lb fuel injectors. The block is stock 91 mustang components but I am running an F-303 cam and GT-40 iron cylinder heads from a 96 Explorer. I also have a 75 mm throttle body. The intake is factory but I polished it. My PVC is still functional until under boost then I rely on the filter to vent gases to the atmosphere. I have been running 10 to 11 psi of boost for the last couple years but would like to bump it up to 15 or 16 this year with a water methanol injection kit I plan to make. As far as horse power I have never been confident enough in my tune to dyno it but new I purchased the AEM system and have no gained some more confidence in my tune. I should be around 500 hp but that’s just a rough guess. As far as cost goes the biggest expense was the AEM engine management. Also one thing I learned is that o-ring the heads is the only to hold the boost in. The first summer I took out 4 head gaskets. It was a steep learning curve on tuning but the AEM is great and gives me complete control now.Approximate costsAEM Engine Management system ------------------------------------$200042lbs Fuel Injectors-------------------------------------------------------$299Walbro 255 liter per hour fuel pump-----------------------------------$200Laptop for AEM----------------------------------------------------------$500Pair of Garrett T3/T4 hybrid Turbos-----------------------------------$1000Headman Headers modified by me! -----------------------------------$50Vecco Intercooler---------------------------------------------------------$350Stainless Oil hoses--------------------------------------------------------$200Intake tubing---------------------------------------------------------------$60Exhaust tubing-------------------------------------------------------------$150AEM Wideband O2 sensor----------------------------------------------$200Autometer Boost Gauge-------------------------------------------------$40That’s all I could think of off the top of my head.
