anyone know any specific paint brands that are tougher than average? when I have painted wheels in the past, I have had to repaint everyyear at least from chips.

I'm trying the new wheel paints from Duplicolor.I have heard good things about them.Powdercoating would be the best way,but it's a little out of the budget for me.

The '87/'88 Turbo Coupe snowflake wheels, like the ones pictured are 16's.They are really common, and sell pretty cheap.Nice looking wheels, though.

Vinnie, how much is too much for you to pay for powdercoating?  There's a place in Dallas that has pretty good prices.

ps sorry about the hi-jack

To me,it's worth what you're willing to pay.If it fits your budget, have them powder coat your parts. It'll last a long time, but on wheels, even powder coat is pr0ne to rock chips and such.A stone at 70 miles per hour can chip anything.I just finished painting the replacement Cobra R with Duplicolor wheel paint. It says it takes a week for the paint to cure,so,a week it will sit in the garage. After painting and clear,it looks as good as the mint one on the car.awesome stuff.

Yeah, I was asking about how much you'd be willing to spend.  If you've already painted them, then no big deal.

I'll be dropping off window trim pieces pretty soon, I could find out how much they want if you're interested.

I'm good, but thanks.I had bought two wheels (used) from Ebay, and they were less than he described. One had curb rash,so,I started restoring it first. It looks just as good as brand new now.I have about $8.00 invested in the resto. Not too bad.Hopefully this week,I'll have the new exhaust tips and Flowmasters on.Oh man,I'm getting excited.I'll post pics of the tips. They are going to make everyone's jaw drop.I've kept them under wraps til they're installed.Hey,this has been a thread hi-jack.Sorry about that.Oh well,we're all family here.

hey no prob, accually i was curious about the same thing, so what the heck! Just curious though, how much would you say an average price would be on powder coating? i have been interested in it for a few things, but it sounds expensive.

Powdercoating prices vary.  The only reason I mentioned it is because Vinnie is reasonably close to this one place.  They're pretty good about pricing but I don't know how much they want.

SWAG for typical work would be $100+/wheel.
