Promotion Tuning

I know this has nothing to do with this forum but for the new edge cougar owners here which i think is just Paul and I, but if you ever order anything online for your 99-04 NEVER and i mean NEVER order from http://www.Promotiontuning.com. Here is my story

"Im trying to stay as civil as i can but dude when my account is charged for a week and my product still has not been shipped i get edgy. I understand that you told me that you guys were waiting on a shipment of headlight covers so you could ship my items together. You told me when i called that my account would not be charged until the headlight covers came back into stock and my order was shipped. I would love to keep doing business with you guys. But cant see how i could with such a negative first experience."

The gist is i ordered my stuff last Saturday after 3 days of inactivity my shipping status changed from inactive to pending and i have been charged for the Items i ordered. Dude has 98.00 of my money and i still dont have my headlight covers or taillight covers. And now the guy is even dodging my phone calls because when i call his internet sales team i get the we are not here now leave a message bs.

[End Rant]

Hmmm...it's only been a week and you're ready to flame them?

It's not uncommon for businesses to get confirmation of their incoming ordered parts. Once those are in transit to them, their order status will change for you as well. And then they will charge your credit card because they know the parts are on the way. Again, this is all not uncommon.

If it was like 3-4 weeks then it would be time to get itchy. But just one week? Impatient, maybe? ;)

Yeah might just be that. But it's tough! Not fun when you can't be 100% sure that all is well on the other end, and you wanna have SOMEthing, some evidence that they're doing what they should be, especially when you try and contact them. That's a pet peeve of mine, when you try and reach someone and they don't get back to you. Granted there could be extenuating cirspoogestances but it just tears you apart!!!

So why did you purchase from them in the first place?
It's Gumby's fault.

PT said they wouldn't charge his account until the product was available.  They lied.  He's justified in being upset/worried.

That sounds to me like he charged your card when he shipped the items and they're on their way.

Sorry, but I still don't see anything unreasonable here at all.

I placed the purchase on 04/04/2008  I joined the new edge forum on the 10th or 11th. As far as i am concerned the shipping time is way out of wack P71 stuff i get from Cali and Florida come in 2 weeks ups(He lives in Fredericksburg Va) not to mention the guy is dodging phone calls and e mails now.

If you think 1 week is "out of wack" then I really feel sorry for anybody you purchase items from, especially on eBay.

Sorry, but I fail to see anything wrong here by the Vendor.

You paid on 04/04/08 (a Friday BTW, most places would be closed on Sat/Sun), then you say "3 days on inactivity" (again, probably just closed, which makes Monday 3 days) you get charged AFTER your order status changes from inactive to pending.

That would be Monday 04/07, today is 04/14. ASSuming it even got picked up by UPS on Monday, that's only 5 full days of shipping time, and UPS Ground averages 7-10 full business days. You yourself even state that most items take 2 weeks (10 full business days) to arrive UPS.

I think you're the one being totally unreasonable.

There's a whole lot of ASSuming going on

ASSuming the vendor told the truth about charging his account
and ..
ASSuming the vendor has actually sent something
then ..
why hasn't the vendor responded to his calls, contacted him or provided a tracking number?

ASSuming they used UPS, that would probably be delivered in 3 days.
ASSuming they actually charged him when received/shipped the product, he could have easily received it by Friday.

ASSuming all of that over the much, much simpler "vendor sent the part on Monday and UPS takes 7 to 10 DAYS to ship, therefore the parts should be in Wed-Fri"?

You're stretching it man. It's been one week since the order was confirmed, charged, and stated as shipped.

I'd much rather ASSume the vendor isn't ducking any "contact" because this is a ridiculous claim.

It's been 10 days, not 7.  UPS might publicly state 7-10 days but their internal goals are much higher, eg in Texas their goal is ONE day.  That's one day from any point in Texas to any other point in Texas.

If the vendor was telling the customer an expected delivery date, instead of you, there probably wouldn't be a problem.

But he's not and the customer is unhappy.  It's on the vendor to correct that problem, whether it's something simple like proper communication or something more nefarious.

How do you figure 10 days? They didn't confirm his order until 04/07/08, today is the 14th, that's 7 days (2 of which UPS doesn't work).

Again, do any of you actually buy stuff on eBay? Do you know that the seller can wait up to 30 days to ship your item, that you must provide 15 days for arrival? Do you know what an eBay seller would say at 1 week? "Bite me" probably!

How about Summit Racing, probably one of (if not the) world leaders in not only order promptness, but also customer satisfaction. Their Sparks, Nevada center is fairly close to me. If I order stuff on a Friday night online, my card is charged first thing Monday morning and I usually have my order by the next Friday (if it's coming Air). When I order oil (ORM-D, Ground Shipping only) it takes a week and a half on average, sometimes up to 2 weeks. Summit always ships it in the same amount of time, it's UPS that varies. If I called Summit today about an order from last week they'd give me the tracking information and politely tell me to hold my horses because the box will probably be here in a day or two.

Moral of the story is, take a chill pill.

A vendor is being bad-mouthed for really no reason whatsoever in WAAYYYY too short of a time-span. Hell our own Vinnie (who has probably the world-record for parts turn-around time) can't even get most stuff to somebody's door in under a week! (They won't let him drive the brown truck otherwise it would!).

Point is the OP needs to calm down. I know I wouldn't want to talk to him on the phone!

April 4 - April 14?  My calendar says that's 10 days, but then I'm using a Gregorian since my abacus is broken.
