Anyone have an extra 8.8 rear axle assembly they want to get rid of? March 03, 2005, 08:54:14 PM Like many other Cougar owners, I am in need of an 8.8 rear axle assembly with 3.73:1 Gears to put in my 88 LS (which is currently stripped to just the body & wheels). Axle shafts are also preferred (5 lug). If anyone has a decent used one, I'm willing to pay top dollar for it.Thanks ~Corey :headbang: Quote Selected

Re: Anyone have an extra 8.8 rear axle assembly they want to get rid of? Reply #6 – March 05, 2005, 10:38:07 PM Jersey huh? Yeah, thats a long way from home, we'd have to ship it. So you have the whole assembly then, huh (8.8 Axle, 3.73:1 gears) Does that come with the shafts? (if not, thats ok) I wanna run the 3.73:1 gears cause i'm goin with the AOD instead of a 5 speed and I think that'd go better, but we shall see - it's a work in progress. As long as everything's in good shape and works fine, I'm interested. Lemme know what you wanna get for it. If you could maybe get a pic or two that'd be cool. Thanks a lot. ~Corey :deal: Quote Selected

Re: Anyone have an extra 8.8 rear axle assembly they want to get rid of? Reply #12 – March 10, 2005, 01:05:43 PM ok i just weight id and its comming up on my scale above 90# with everything. so at the most 100# it will be 80.05 for shipping. i measured it to be 64" long. after i take the calipers and rotors off unless you want the rusted rotors, it will be a good 10-15# less. so in all, it will cost between $71, and $80 for shipping. i was going to try to get 200 for the rear with calipers and rotors, but without them, ill drop it to 100+ shippingthe t-lock is still good on it to.
