Yes, I have another one!

Ok, sorry for all the posts lately!  LOL.

I've got a very strange thing happening here.  I was working on splicing in gauges for the SN swap, lighting in particular.  There is a lt blu/red wire at the light switch which runs up to the cluster for illumination.  Ok, so here's what happens (light switch on):

1.  Test lt blu/red at light switch: power
2.  Test lt blu/red at Cluster: nothing
3.  Test continuity between test points 1 & 2: closed circuit

How can I get voltage at one but not the other when test 3 proves they are connected?

The LB/R wire probably feeds other light bulbs besides the cluster.
You have continuity through these other bulbs, ground and the bulbs in the cluster.
Stick to voltage measurements for your trouble shooting.

My copy of the 87 EVTM is too blurry to be much help in this area.

hmm, i get it.  you're probably right.  But this wire also feeds the HVAC illumination which also sees no voltage...  I'm just confused on where to go next I guess...
