Look out internet...

...here I come :D I've just been connected to high speed internet. It's wireless.

I tried another company a bit over a year ago but there is a big hill between me and the tower so I can't get a reliable signal from it. Another company moved into the area and put a tower up in a perfect place for me - I can see it out my bathroom window. They hooked me up today. It's 2MB service, which might not seem like much to you FIOS subscribers, but it's leaps and bounds better than dialup!!!

To celebrate I think I'll post a hi-res photo of my dog, something that would have been a pipe dream on dialup:

I swear every dog my family has owned has done the same thing.  Half on half off.

On another note, I'm off to Florida to visit my brother.  See you all Saturday.

My Germen Short- Haired Pointer would walk halfway out the sliding door and stand there... just looking around and if you didnt nudge him or something he would stay there. He only did that in his last year or two of 17.

The Matrix reference was actually for Carm.;)  I meant no disrespect.:D

I actually switched recently from My cable company to FIOS this past October.  The speed is about the same as I can't see any difference except upon initial startup of IE.  My Optimum Online service was faster in that regard, but for $20 less a month on the package deal for phone/internet/cable I'll deal with a 5 second delay on IE startup.

I have had Cable Wireless Satellite and DSL (Which I have had the longest and still have)

Satellite was a decent speed but pure shiznit overall and games were unplayable with a full second of lag due to the time reaching the satellite. Thats 999ms Ping.

I was pleased with the wireless when I had it and it was only 1.5 megs. You don't really notice the speed difference between Wireless and DSL or Cable unless you are gaming or downloading a huge file.

2 Megs is a nice sound speed, I think you will be very happy!

By the way I have had DSL for about 4 years now and like it the best by far. 7 Megs right now and it has been a far more constant speed than cable ever was. My ping in games is also constant.

I usually download files at around 750KBps
