If the Lincoln is in good shape, I'd stick with it.. I've never trusted the 2.3, and those specialty TC parts are pricy/hard to find.

That being said, I like the LOOK of the TC way more. Just not all of the things that make it up.

those are my thoughts to but i think its more towards the "fear of the unknown" more than anything.  Im sure if the power plant isnt hot dogged constantly, it would last.

In his defense, all I associate Bill Elliot with is McDonalds....

Also, I don't like Nascar.

You hit the nail right on the head. Fear of the unknown.

The engine in my current TC has been through a drunk driving lunatic, many mods and big time flogging, and now it's in my 88.

The engine itself is tough. Electronics is where they are finicky.
It's Gumby's fault.

Well if he didn't like NASCAR why does want to put Bill's #8 on the car???

Was Bill driving #8 when he had the McDonalds sponsorship???

I love the 5.0 in the lincoln but as far as gas mileage the bird will kill it. Plus i can finish the linc, then park the bird and work it over. All ideas in my head....

Guess you ain't ever drove a auto TC as a DD, don't expect much if any improvement in MPG... While they ain't a ball of fire, they suck gas just like a V8 when you're in the boost... Yeah you're gonna take it easy LOL...

That said it appears to be a nice car...
