My tempo will be gone after this winter...so I'm looking for something to replace it and become my "fair weather" winter car.

I think I'd like something with a V8 because I've never owned a car with a V8 yet.

Preferably a V8 Thunderbird, but I may consider a Cougar, and even stuff '89 and newer. Might even consider completely different vehicles.

Looking for something in the $1500-2000 range that's not a piece of junk. I'm in Morgantown, WV (about an hour south of Pittsburgh) and could probably drive 2 hours to meet someone.

Like I said, feeler post...but if someone has an awesome deal I may very well consider it.

I sent an email to the guy who is selling the '86 5.0 (Pittsburgh) about 6 weeks ago.
He said something about an engine fire and the wiring being replaced. It's a pretty base model car, anyway. I decided against it.

Oh really.

He e-mailed me back today and said he's still got the car...says it needs brake lines. If what you said is true, it doesn't sound very promising, which is probably why he's still got it.

Well then, nevermind that.

You might have better luck finding a 91 and up T-bird or Cougar with a 5.0 or 4.6. The V8 fox bodies are getting hard to find.....

I see a few in the paper every now and then.

I'll just have to keep looking. Haven't seen too many Thunderbirds in general lately.

Also, I'm not too keen on getting a 4.6 unless I find a really good deal on one.
