Anybody ever see an..... Reply #3 – February 25, 2008, 12:05:30 PM Nope, Not Albino, just white. There is a diff, the eyes are not pink, that would be required to be a true Albino. And I have seen pictures of an Albino...http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/albinodeer.asp White deerhttp://www.senecawhitedeer.org/ Quote Selected

Anybody ever see an..... Reply #5 – February 25, 2008, 12:46:31 PM There's an all white deer that frequents my neighbour's yard (living in the boonies "neighbour" is a relative term - they live 1/4 mile away). I've never seen it myself, and every time they call me to tell me it's there it's gone by the time I show up with the camera.I also saw one on military property near Dartmouth, NS one time - this property is quite urban (Oldraven will recognize the name: Magazine Hill) but it's wooded and protected from trespassers and hunters, so it's FULL of deer. Some of the bucks are HUGE and they're quite tame (and really stupid - a major highway runs through the area and deer are always being hit). I actually did get a pic of that one, but it was dusk and I was using a cheap 35mm flash camera and all that showed up in the pic was the eyes.Oh, and many many years ago a guy hunting out of our camp shot a huge white deer. I didn't see the deer itself (I was too young) but there was a picture at the camp with the deer hanging from a tree, with the caption "40 POINT ALBINO HORSE" written under it. The antlers were mutated - it looked more like thorn bushes on its head than antlers, and there was no symmetry to the points. The deer's face was kinda deformed too, looking more like a caribou than a deer. The guy lived on the Trans Canada highway, and while it was hanging outside his house a trucker from Texas saw it and stopped. He bought the head for $500 (this was the early 70's so it was a lot of money), so somewhere in Texas there's a deformed white deer head from Nova Scotia hanging on somebody's wall. Quote Selected

Anybody ever see an..... Reply #8 – February 25, 2008, 06:45:44 PM 9 point is pretty big for a white deer. they dont live long around here due to the very poor camoflague. 3 point is the biggest i've seen, and it was a very small racked 3 point at that. they probably live longer up there where its snowy more often.
